Men of War, Soliders: Heroes of World War II (which is essentially the same game but on a smaller and more focused Commando's scale). If you're not adverse to realism and a different control scheme then the Hidden & Dangerous games have that sort of feel & atmosphere also.
For pure carnage then the Alien Shooter games are a good look in as well.

But you must play Soldiers, if you liked Cannon Fodder (i did, back in the day) although Soldiers is more strategy, less arcade.

...For me Men of war is the best of the 3 (FoW being the poorest).MoW Being the most recent with better gpx and physic´s and a very active community. Be advised Its a realistic RTS or RTTactical (COH its pure arcade compared)
PS: Their was a deal on amazon for 4.99£, don´t know if is still up.
Why not use winuae and mount the cannon fodder image ? i just played cannon fodder 1 and cannon fodder 2 yesterday on my windows 7. I always played this game on the amiga and i still love it
