i dunno... apparently it took three tries before a group finally ripped cloudy with a chance of meatballs properly... and apparently im the only person in the entire universe that noticed a problem with the original releases from day 1... so if rippers are getting dumber, its only because the average downloaders standards aren't up to much 
but anyway... whats the best 2012 release? i saw someone say the noir release wasnt great (bad audio and sync issues) but i dunno... so whats the score? any 'good' releases out yet, or are we still expecting them to get better?

mdma was the first one out i think... and as a rule i tend to avoid em, but still - be interesting to hear what the quality is like.
edit: oooh theres a vision one out... usually vision doesnt disappoint. grabbing sample to check
yeah fuck it ill get visions release. picture quality looks excellent. audio sounds a bit tinny but looked in sync and audible enough.

just finished watching it. not bad. coulda been a bit shorter and some bits annoyed me, but yeah overall i enjoyed it.

Both MDMA and Vision used Russian source. Check out when name of the place is displayed. MDMA release includes subs just for foreign dialogue while Vision has included full English subs which can be distracting. Picture is the same for both but audio is louder with MDMA. I recommend MDMA.

Christ...this movie is just like Independence Day...

Americans shown as heroes (of course the president had to be cool and die), some other countries thrown in so that the movie is not ALL AMERICAN. Plus no acting at all, just effects (some of them quite good, like the California collapse). Of course - good ending and ships so tough they can take any wave and hard impacts

The movie is a 4/10 for me, only because i like apocalypse.
And yes survival movies own disaster movies. Still waiting for The Road and Fallout (Book Of Eli).

2012 was fine as a popcorn flick like Independence Day or Diehard4.

I watched this when I was in England a few weeks back ... and I absolutely LOVED it! Amazing action flick and quality entertainment. Obviously leave your brain at the door, but that doesn't detract from the enjoyment.
Can't wait for the HD release now. Some films, this especially, thoroughly deserve/need HD.

yeah i got shouted at when i said only some films are really worth the hd  this is definately one i want to get in 1080. only thing i didnt like, was the ending bit kinda slowed the movie down for me a bit... but everything else was crazy and a fuckload of good old timey disaster movie fun.

films with a lot of good things to see, benefit the most from hd.
a movie that bases itself around dialogue and story... not so much, because those things are the same no matter how pretty the picture is.

There are plenty of private torrent trackers that release their own releases, which are better in magnitudes than the scene releases (HD and SD). Most of them are uploaded to Usenet as well, so if you don't have access to the torrent trackers, you can still get the quality releases. Just have to wait a little bit longer, because usually the Blu-rays are purchased by members of the torrent trackers and uploaded for the encoders. Some recent Chinese torrent tracker seems to be getting sources very early, so you see the Wiki releases come out very fast.
