I am enjoying this game so far, the graphics while not cutting edge are pretty sweet, the sense of being in pre WW2 Europe and it's attention to detail makes this a fun title.
The story has depth and the characters believable.
The game suggests to me that Mercenaries had an affair with Mafia and this is their love child.

It's like GTA or Assassins Creed, just worse... anyway, worth giving a try.

If by Assassin's Creed you mean AC1, then no, it's way way way better then AC1. As for the GTA comparison, maybe worse then GTA IV, but that's about it.
The game's fun, pure fun. And the 40's period setting(Paris, music, cars... etc) + that black&white/noir filter gives a awsome and pretty unique feeling. Other than Mafia I don't know of another game that did this. (Bioshock & Fallout 3 don't count, for obvious reasons)
P.S. This game would have been great to play right after seeing Inglourious Basterds.

Thought it was really good, lots of fun. 1000/1000 it this evening. Don't understand why people don't like it but each to their own.

if u not into fake nipples u won't miss much |
What's up with all this nudity in games taboo? Fake gore and blood is cool and manly, but fake titties is bad? That's double standards if you ask me.
Games deserve to have tits and sex in them just as much as gore, blood and violence. So stop this ignorant nonsense about nudity.
PC version is uncut (nudity DLC is included) so just play that if you don't want any crappy censoring.

For the ones that had the same bad first impression as me, pick the game up again!
yeah, it has lots of small annoying bugs, but you'll get over it after some time
The only thing that REALLY annoyed me was that Sean automatically holstered weapon after cut scenes and every time you interacted with something. This obviously gets more annoying when you're in a stressful situation. Nothing major tho
But well loved the story and the different characters. Would have loved even more Irish humor tho
Took me 13hours 1min and 8sec to get 100% story progression (you only get 94% if you don't do the races). So yeah, longer than I expected. Pretty variable missions, at least towards the end.
Final score 7,5/10 |
deelix, there's like a gajillion of those little white dots. how did you complete all that shit in 13 hours dude? i was thinking the tank would help.
i would recommend anyone who was on the fence to give it a try. i watched a video review and came back here and read a little more and decided to give it another try. overall the game is poorly executed. it just feels unfinished as if it was rushed out the door, probably to a deadline. i've ran into several bugs that any in house testing would've wiped out. just lots of evidence that points to a rush job. if they had spent another year on this game you would have been looking at an AAA title easily. the humor in it reminds me of NOLF. not quite as campy but still in the same ball park.
definitely not worth 60 bucks, but a deal at a steal
