It is ok but not a jaw dropping trailer. It is a bit short to judge it further.
It does look like frostbie engine (reminds me on BF).
We cant expect something completely new.
Just give us an old school MOH feeling, dedi servers, MOD TOOLS and we will have a decent MP shooter.
Oh and lean please !

and then some people wonder why so many people still play Counterstrike (both, original and source).

now don't get me wrong, CS is by no way Rainbow Six (and when i say Rainbow 6 i MEAN rainbow six ... not vegas and all that console BS). but compared to the FPS from last 7-10 years, CS is problably the only (good supported) FPS out there that isnt fast paced console garbage (of course it depends where you play, im talking about playing with GOOD people and not on some 32 noob casual player server ... ). CS is (can be) extremely tactical even on public server (sure, mostly it isnt, but you do have a choice there) .. what other game can claim the same ? (being able to seriously offer all playstyles to anyone ? tactical, skilled, casual, fast paced, fuck, even fun (mods, wc3 and all that stuff lulz) ...

thats why most people play cs/css ...

now flame away

^^

Your mistake is,,, its not fast paced.

Quake, unreal is fast paced.

Lets just hope for the best.

Can't wait for BC2 either. I want the damn game.

Great news is that there will be two teams working up on final product. MP side will be done by DICE with their new engine, EALA is takeing over single player with UT3 engine .
So two different engines... lets see how it works

It sounds really strange to me. These two engines are so radically different that we'll have two completely opposite "experiences" Confused

Any proof to this or just speculations? It could be great if executed well.

Frame by frame : Medal of Honor
Quote:
Developers love to sneak things by us, and the best possible way to do so is in trailers. Even in small teasers there can be countless hints towards possible gameplay mechanics, story reveals, and other subtleties. Often, to find them all, you need to go frame by frame, looking everywhere for everything. Its a bit of a pain, so we decided to take that strain off of you. That's the concept behind Frame by Frame.

EA is really pushing forward with their new take on Medal of Honor, and it looks to draw inspiration from plenty of other shooters. And by plenty of other shooters, we mean Modern Warfare. Take a look.

I took some scans:

Some good details. Dedicated servers, better gfx options than consoles, they keep harping on it being authentic, and things like lighting shining through bullet holes.

Medal Of Honor Details
Medal Of Honor's modern warfare isn't quite as modern as Call Of Duty's, taking place between 2001 and 2004, rather than the near future:

Quote:
EA's modern day Medal Of Honor is entirely set in Afghanistan between 2001 and 2004 - and its developer believes the game's weapons and tactics set it apart from its rivals.
MoH's gunplay is 'slick and smooth', with players doing battle with Chechen rebels, amongst others.

Modern Warfare-esque Elite ops levels are complemented by huge-scale 'Sledgehammer' campaigns - which GM says bear more resemblance to EA's own Battlefield series.

Greg Goodrich - exec producer of the game - hinted the title's warfare 'set it apart' from its rivals.

"I can't go into details, but let's just say you'll be surprised by how some of the enemies respond to you, both in terms of tactics and the weapons they use," he added.

Whan i heard that DICE will be working on MP side of the game i was so exited, but not anymore. MP side will be done by DICE standards. If so than we can expect same shit as Bad Company will have. Real dedi servers and mod tools will not be be released to public.

As we already said before...
Quote:
The upcoming Medal of Honor game will use two separate graphics engines. A Medal of Honor tweet reveals the single-player campaign in the military shooter will use the Unreal Engine 3: "As many of you may have read, we are using a heavily-modified Unreal 3 Engine for Medal of Honor's single-player campaign." A follow-up tweet says DICE is using their Frostbite engine for the game's multiplayer side: "I guess the cat's out of the bag. Medal of Honor's multiplayer will be using the Frostbite engine."

On a related note, Planet Medal of Honor points to a a preview of the game on Planet IGN where DICE's Patrick Bach admits that rolling the dice on the game's multiplayer development will probably lead to some dicey results: "I think it would be hard to not have anything feed in," answers Bach, "But then again we're not striving to make a new Battlefield – the goal is to make a completely new IP and make sure we get the best possible multiplayer experience for that IP. I've been play-testing it – and it really is good. We're using the Frostbite engine and it's amazing to see how it can build a completely different experience." Finally, a later tweet clarifies that footage of the game in the recently released Medal of Honor trailer is solely the Unreal Engine 3: "Just to clarify, all of the footage in our trailer is Unreal Engine 3...not Frostbite"

Can they fail any harder? Unless they are using the UDK version of UE3, which I highly doubt, I can't see in anyway UE3 competing in the visuals department with Frostbite. It takes a small look at BFBC2 too see what that engine is capable of, while the console variations of UE3 are showing their age considerably.

Newsflash :

Quote:
A strong hint towards the inclusion of dedicated servers in the upcoming Medal of Honor was noted in a recent aticle published online at atomic pc.

Vehicle combat was also hinted, and is probably to be expected with Dice in control of the multiplayer aspect of the game.

And then of course there's the multiplayer angle of the game, which has some obviously very stiff competition from the likes of MW2. Sean Decker, though, is very happy with the challenge ahead of him, and very aware of the stakes involved when it comes to PC multiplayer.

"It's going to be awesome," he says when we ask him about the game beyond the bounds of singleplayer, "and I'll say this up front - it has to have dedicated servers." Sean's passion for the topic is unmistakeable, and he goes on to make us feel very excited indeed about Medal of Honor's multiplayer.

"There's no worse experience than the lobby, and voting, and host migration, and all that. It's a bad experience." Which, of course we totally agree with. And, since we know the game's going to have vehicles in the campaign, we hit him up about vehicles in multiplayer levels.

"Well, with DICE involved," he says, grinning, "I think you can assume we're going to touch on vehicle combat just a little."

Screens, similar to the above in the scan but better quality.
(EDIT: "Takistan" to borrow Bohemia Interactive's "term" in their Arrowhead expansion for ArmA 2, fictional setting but very realistic still.)
