Then I hope EA loses a gazilion money on this game
They have their own developers anyway, shouldn't be so hard to quality test the patch they already mentioned a while ago

Unless they implement a proper AI and fix some stuttering issues, there's no real need for a patch anyway.

Also no way to run game at high native resolutions such as 1680x1050 or 1920x1200, no 16x anisotropic filtering and no fps above 30.

in the end, it gives sensation that a sequel was in the works, or they would work on a sequel.

Because sean says.. this isnt over yet, or something like that.

Just because some guys were fired, doesnt mean a sequel will not be made... if EA make a good $$$$$$ they will make a sequel for sure.

The Saboteur(tm)
Version 1.03 BETA Patch Notes - December 18, 2009
==================================================================

Game no longer freezes during play on the following hardware
combination:
* ATI video card from the 3K, 4K, and 5K series
* Windows Vista/7 both 32 bit and 64 bit

Known Issues & Current Workaround:

Users with Quad core CPU's will possibly have significant streaming issues without the following work around. The team is aware of this issue and is working on a fix for it in the next patch update. If you are running a Quad Core CPU please follow the steps below to set Game Only affinity on your CPU. While this will decrease the amount of streaming glitches, it is not a full proof fix.

Recommended Game-only steps for Quad core users only:

Windows 7 and Vista

1.) Boot the game.
2.) Wait for the main menu to load, then press Ctrl-Alt-Delete.
3.) Select Start Task Manager.
4.) If the game is visible, press Alt-Tab, otherwise continue to the next step.
5.) Inside the Task Manager, go to the Processes tab.
6.) Find Saboteur.exe, right-click it, and select Set Affinity…
7.) De-select CPU 2 and CPU 3.
8.) Click OK.

To report an issue visit our official Beta patch thread: http://forum.ea.com/eaforum/posts/list/353573.page

Awesome! Gonna try that with the VCD image (if I can get the damned thing installed, that is. VCD9 wouldn't work for me on Win7-x64)

Thanks <3

*Edit*

NVM. Mount the .vc6 image to my physical drive. That clears it. Works fine with the new patch and, so far, no freeze!

Well there's a fucking shocker, eh?

"Conflict with emulation software" No, I'm not uninstalling Daemon Tools just to get this one game running.

delete Smile

I know, just found it earlier. I tried VCD9 before and it was a no-go, but now there's VCD10 and that works fine Smile I got the conflict message because I mounted the VCD file to one of the VCD virtual drives ... changing that to mount to my REAL drive lets the game load.

yeah that's why i deleted my quote because if you could run the game with the patch you only could have started it with vcd10 as you wrote Very Happy but you responded too quickly Wink

actually to be precisely you have to run it mounted to the first drive, it doesn't matter if that drive is a real one or a virtual one, checked it out once before Smile

Can someone tell me the point of being able to save your game at any time? I saved my game after I got a disguise and just outside this objective. I reloaded the game only to find that the game reloaded me at the beginning of the mission and not where I bloody saved it!!

Seriously whats the point of saving a game if it only loads you to the beginning of the mission?

Maybe it saves any sideobjectives you do. For example, the white dots. Also, sometimes it saves the actual progress when you gotta destroy dozens of targets on some missions.

It works, that's all that matters. Game looks HELLA loads of fun, but performance is pretty poor outside in the world Sad

How in the hell do you save!? I finished the first mission last night (blow up the gas station) and went back to the strip-club like it told me. I saved inside and turned off the game. Now I load it up and I'm back at the VERY start, drinking at the bar!

That works for me though I've read that others have had that save problem, perhaps run in administrative mode if it's something that blocks it or save to two or so different slots beforehand.
(Did the first mission and then I saved at the strip club, did a few more and saved when possible and it worked just fine so perhaps it's some autosave or restriction issue?)

Nah, I found out how. You have to finish a mission completely and it saves afterwards Smile

Playing it now and, so far? IT RULES! Awesome ideas, great graphics, wicked voice acting, tons of humour.

Definitely loving it!

Unplayable for me, even with everything on low Sad Too lazy to post my specs but I can play most recent games on medium with ok performance.
