my opinion is that those aftermarket coolers don't really do a decent job. i had a nyko intercooler that was a just a piece of shit really. myself and 3 of my friends all experienced E74 errors that would randomnly happen and coincidentally it would only happen when the fans in the intercooler would start raising hell and making noise. but anyway, to answer your question.

there are a few places on the 360 motherboard to draw 12v. i used the power and grounds for the dvd drive myself. just skin a small section of the wires on the plug, and connect your hot and ground from your fan to it with a little bit of solder. it makes more noise i'll admit but cooling issues become a thing of the past after that.

Couple of XCM core coolers is the go, I also have whisper max installed instead of stock fan. I did the 12v fan mod on a non FW flashed 360 for live and still got banned on the first ban wave back in the day. Only thing it could have been, others reported the same too

how the hell on earth could coolers fix following problem? get your facts straight. fix xclamp first and then install coolers to reduce temperature.

WTF? Im well aware of the issues with the board flex and pressure on the BGA, which combined with heat causes the RROD. I have xclamped many a RROD 360. Most people dont xclamp untill issues appear. BTW champ, the machines I was talking about are xclamped.

Xbox360 wasnt designed for bloody hot countries! Mines clamped and also couple of XCM coolers. Never had another RROD in over 1 year since doing the mods.

Arcade Demo to Full Conversion for Homebrew 360s
>> With freeBOOT v0.02 and XBReboot v0.05 being released opening our retail 360s (with older 2nd bootloader/CB) to run unsigned code, people are starting to experiment stuff.
Surazal on our forums found out the difference between a demo and full Xbox Live Arcade game is only a few hex-edit away:
Quote:

Find a copy of Yaris (this game was chosen as it runs everywhere as full).
Open the pirs file in your favorite hex editor (filename was FB9310B8893A3FD01C443A29AC246493393E399558 )
Copy everything from 0x22C to 0x25F inclusive.
Shown as selected on this image (guess you don't need to find Yaris if you want to just copy the values highlighted).
Open your destination (in my case Castle Crashers filename: F9432A7FE407A3C196C95D0FFD4A540937FD4EEC58)
select 0x22C, and paste (overwrite, not insert). File size should NOT change.

Note that this is (probably) illegal if you didn't actually buy the actual Xbox Live Arcade game. But as running a "homebrew enabled" Xbox 360 is not (and probably will never be) safe to connect to LIVE this is way to make your Arcade games you bought play in full version on your homebrew Xbox 360.

2 tools to help you auto-patch arcade games have been released as well:
* Arcade Demo to Full Converter (adfc) v0.1 (by FreeXeX)
FreeXeX360 :: Arcade Demo to Full Converter v0.1
Usage: freexex360-adfc.exe <LIVE file>
* Yaris-Swap v0.02 (by zouzzz)
Yaris-Swap use your [Surazal's] tips (for LIVE and PIRS files). If someone can test it.

I like bum.

can have a xbox 360 that's still on the old kernel, so i guess it's exploitable, but I can't solder anything myself for sure since i'm a noob.... Do you guys advise me to find somebody to do it for me or just get lost with it since you can't play wave4 games (games that requires the latest kernel) with it ? (afaik).... Cuz I can flash it myself to ixtreme 1.6.1 right now, and just play all these games, but since they will update the kernel, i dunno what to do now...

So much for "fully hacked" and "everything works perfectly", eh? I guess not being able to play a 3 or 4 good arcade games for free is not so bad after all. Playing normal DVD games for free without issues is far better.

More like "don't say anything negative about 360 hacking or we'll flame you" thread. I'm kidding, but there are plenty of people who experienced lag, freezes and other issues with these loaders in some games.

Sounds like the issues happening with the original Wii loaders too... lotta freezing and general glitchiness. It's just a shame this hack only works on machines prior to June 2009. I can't see there being many people being able to take advantage of it, so I really can't see there being a massive influx of support Sad

Well obviously if new/updated 360s don't get hacked then this whole homebrew stuff will just slowly die out. I would be surprised if a number of JTAG'ed 360s is more than 1% of total modded 360s. Basically only a few dedicated hacking enthusiasts have JTAG'ed 360s, that's not enough for homebrew to become what it was with Xbox1.

Aye, exactly. I mean, there are dashboard updates on disks too - so even if you got banned in 2008, chances are if you've been playing the latest games; you're updated to one of the latest dashboards. Hopefully this is just a stepping stone to a more widely available hack.

atm, it seems like a lot of work for very little in return Sad
There are less than 10 really really good XBLA games imo.
The emulators are cool, but well not a big must for me.
You can get all those emulators on PC anyway.

And about playing all regions; the xbox 360 are damn cheap atm, so id rather buy a JAP console (from ebay or something) for those cool exclusives.

So the only really good thing about this is probably the mod community (unsure of what people have made so far) But indeed its cool to run unsigned stuff. Oh yeah, and use any HDD^^
