Can't say I'm disappointed, but after Spike TV awarded Uncharted 2 as GOTY 2009, I had my doubts about which path would GT follow.
It clearly went through with the only plausible choice 
GT remains the linchpin of trustworthy and honest game reviews!

eh mw2 had the fortune of being the last game released this year that was great, and thus fresher in peoples minds... id still pick arkham as my 09 goty.

MW2 was vastly overrated - the campaign, while fun, was far too short. The multiplayer, while addicting, isn't that great. Batman: Arkham Asylum or Dragon Age: Origins should have won. Guess they simply weren't high profile enough to garner the attention of the hundreds of millions "pew pew" console tards out there though. Shame, but not unexpected.

I dont think that site is really good for PC gamers. I mean those guys are amazing at building PCs, shit, they figured out a way to SLI two ATI cards for dragon age video. Or crysis lost in 2007/08 for graphics because their pc couldnt run it. Or that guy that said ps3 is a lot more powerful than a pc and pc is just for checking emails.
Of course they like MW2 on pc (I dont know if they even played it) because IT IS a fucking console game on pc WITH MOUSE SUPPORT.
Still I enjoy their reviews and Invisible walls/Epic battle cry are pretty good podcasts, even though I cringe everything they talk about PC/ PC gaming.
Sig too big. -Nothing is too big for Fedor. Expect a nasty armbar.

MW2 is also pc goty according to GT  wouldn't be my choice at all, had more fun with other games.

I've put over 240hrs into MW2's multiplayer, but I STILL wouldn't class it GOTY. Sorry, but Arkham or Dragon Age take that.

Yeah, I would go with Batman:AA too. It was a big surprise and a very polished experience.
For me it was no surprise that DA:O was amazing for me but i'd still put B:AA over it cause I knew what is awaiting me with DA:O.

It has to be popularity for sure, Because nothing else comes to mind on what makes it worthy of GOTY, i didn't like Batman but it's more worthy, Happy New Year to all

i second your thoughts, both arkham and dragon age are waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better games, but didnt stick out in the mind of all the kiddies out there who plagued mommy for "that new Call of Duty game" which made as big a news as the porn bits in some grand theft auto games *fap fap fap fap fap fap fap fap*
but lets face it.... pimply nosed kids whinging on at mommy sells games, whether its sex in a game or the random mowing down of random innocent civvies...that game of the year award lost its proper honour once console gaming REALLY took off

My votes definitely go towards uncharted 2 and batman AA they are both exceptional games all around. MW2 is a good online experience but its not worthy of game of the year over the other choices.

As a pc game, yeah, it won best pc title on several sites, but the favourite seems to be uncharted 2 -otherwise it mw2 :/
