I hope they learned a mistake releasing a game that actually a decent computer can manage, and not have to wait 2 years Sad

All decent computers could run Crysis at launch.
The problem was that some people had computers that were 5 years old, or new PCs with cheap low spec graphic cards & expected it to work. Then complained when their £40 gfx card or 5 year old kit couldn't run it.

I ran Crysis on relese on XFX GF8800GTX 768M on full details, AAx16. Ran smoothly until last level's fireworks, where i lowered the AA to x2. XFX GF8800GTX 768M was around 150$ at that time (2years+?)...

ROFL.

I *still* can't run the game on full details with or without anti aliasing and I'm trying it on an XFX 4870-1GB XXX (massively OCed too) I love people that claim to be running the game with highest settings on crappy ancient hardware Very Happy

People tolerate different amounts of FPS. 25+ was just fine in Crysis imo.

Yeah I'm not saying he was playing at 16xAA etc. like he said. For me it slowed to a crawl above 4x with a 8800GT 512.

I know and that's all I was saying Very Happy If he said "medium with 4xAA" then I'd believe him, as most rigs are capable of Medium settings - it's just his claim, like so many others, is laughable Very Happy

Shit, I'm playing on HIGH now (not V.High, and I also have Shadows on Medium) with 2xAA and I get 40-50fps, with rare drops to high 30s during intense combat.

Release schedule, seems this might be released around the holiday session this year although it's pretty vague.

I had a 8800GTX, it ran fine on high with low AA @ 1920 x 1200. High, not max.

My laptop with a 7950GT ran it on medium but was a bit choppy.

Sorry, my computer didn't do that then, because I have so much to gain from lying to impress the mighty condescending sabin.

There was a DX9 and DX10 option as well and 25-30 fps was enough for me. Go grab the same GPU, use Windows XP and the same equipment so you can see how much of an asshat you are. Quicker yet, just look in the mirror.

The CPU is clocked to 3GHz, FSB 333MHz and the video is XFX GF8800 768MB the ram is 4GB DDR2 800MHz = rig from 2007
Edit: the monitor is 17" so that's why the res is 1280x1024
Edit2: the first screen you can see that the version of the game is from 2007 too

Hehe, I prefer the "EdgeAA=2" vegetation smoothing compared to normal AA for Crysis, 16x is a bit overkill as well tho it probably looks great. Very Happy
(EDIT: Minus AA but with EdgeAA and other tweaks* and at the same settings at 1680x1050 was how I ran the game with a 2900XT, around 20 FPS or so but I made it trough both it and Warhead, had a 4870X2 for Warhead though but Crossfire performance is still improving so it wasn't all that great initially, heh.)

(*Basically went trough the config files and tweak guides and pushed stuff like view distance, LOD, draw distance and resolution for shadows and similar way higher than intended, 20 FPS is fine to me though so might as well take advantage of it and push image quality further, haha.)
