Banned from what? Their social network service? Why would anyone care about that?

You're lying.
You're simply ****ting on PC & PS3 owners by delaying the DLC while you try to get it and the update pushed through Microsoft Certification.
It may be convenient for you to lead us to believe that RtO is bugged, and that the pirated version is not working or incomplete, but both of those things are untrue. The full, working version is available to pirates, and we have to wait an indefinite period of time, because of a single platform.
I'd let it go if you were honest and just said it's a pure business decision with wanting the DLC to release on all platforms on the same day, but the vague responses and letting us draw our own conclusions is really bad practice.
You won't even tell us the NATURE of the thing that has delayed it, and you think the best way to deal with people being pissed off that pirates are playing it weeks before us, is to treat us with disrespect and dishonesty?
I think you need to send your guys back to PR 101, because this is a ****ing nightmare in community management. |
This guy is absolutely right!

LOL! Nice argument of Bioware there. Kudos -.-

Hilarious Who is this dipshit? Is he really thinking anyone cares about his feelings when they got treated like shit and lies to their faces? This guy is awesome

I think he means that they can find out that you played the leaked version by checking your profile that stores all the achievements. You automatically get the achievement for completing RtO so if your profile got updated it is pretty obvious that you played it before it was released.
It's pretty funny how this all started. Gaider kept saying that RtO got delayed because of a quality issue that they found pretty late and not because they wanted a simultaneous release on all platforms. Many people got pissed because he wouldn't say what the issue was. Then he got really worked up and said something like "We are definitely not going explain a business decision like this" Oops.

I didn't link my game to an account and deactivated every updating (screenshots, achievements and so on) too (which isn't even necessary cause I don't made one or linked it). I believe the majority of pirates didn't made one.
So this is pure BS.

Working for nearly a year now as a .Net developer, and well I can pretty much tell you that most of what the community managers or similar people tell you with regards to delays, or why something was cut, or not implemented is pure and utter bullshit. The real reason is mostly directly related to the making of money. Though referring to it as a business decision still covers the quality of their product, because it'd affect business if they released a shit product.
I'm pretty much jaded because of marketing though, cause when they hand us down requirements and the like there's always two write ups. One for the internal development, and the other one for the public. The latter is all about buttering up news about the feature and the what not and making the customer feel good. The former is a direct reason as to why something is cut, or some explanation as to how such a feature can be used to milk customers. Also marketing dicks have zero appreciated for code. The turds.
As a result I haven't kept up with games much because for the most part it's bullshit.

Can't one just re-download the files linked to earlier and compare that way? doubt they would change the file name though the version number at the end might have changed.
(Actually any changes are probably very minor, saw no real issues when I played trough it aside from the previously mentioned clipping issues and such things.)

I'm curious what changes could be at today's release. Personally doubt that will be any.

The guys of the German PC magazine "Gamestar.de" said they asked Bioware about the delay and they responded that they aim to release it today (15 January) for 360 and PC.

they should play it more like blizzard "its done when its done".
if there is one thing i hate, is "then and then and then", makes me anxious.

Im sure the developers would if they could. I think its pressure from EA, Publishers & Shareholders that make developers like Bioware be put on the spot to give out release dates, then, when they are not met due to unforseen circumstances, they have to take the backlash for it.

Thats why i like blizzard so much. They are the big kid on the block and they dont take the crap. Ea games or whoever asks them when the game will be out..they say 'When its done' Then Ea games goes back to their corner of the internet and plays with their toys till Blizzard tells them the games done.
