Yeah, there are four (not including mini-missions found while scanning planets); Omega, Illium, Tuchunka and Citadel.
(thanks mate) |
thanks, that doesn't sound bad
new page reached I'm gonna repeat the 2 DLC questions I have:
Quote: |
a) DLC question: I installed all the DLC with the Razor version and it seems to work but how/when can I see that Zaeed worked? when do I meet him, do I get any confirmation? (I only played until the armor locker after the tutorial to see if all the other stuff was there)
b) DLC question 2: so is it true that if I'm using the legit version I can't get the pre-order/dr pepper stuff (armor, helmets, blackstorm gun) without having an unlock code? so when I'm gonna be connected to cerberus network I'll only get Zaeed, the normandy crash site and the collectors armor? or is there some way to get that exclusive stuff with the legit version too?

I think the hardest thing about doing this is trying to see the game as a trilogy, when you have to wait 2-3 years for the next part. You can really only judge the games individually at this point, while Bioware clearly sees the whole thing. |
Agreed... and I hate it! *grumbles* Now we've finished ME2.. the only thing left is the DLC content (which will never fully be enough to satisfy) while we wait the years for ME3.

Sheesh, you weren't kidding when you said it's gonna be a long one, sabin
But I read it! Nice write up, agree with you on the most part, but I've said already before, that I was slightly disappointed (although fully expected this) like some others here, by the lack of "middle" story.
It is true that, if you take it as it is, it's a long experience, but I guess you just can't help, but perceive the recruitment as a prologue in your mind, so when you finally feel fully prepared to go and start saving the world it just ends.
Dragon Age and ME1 both had this too, but DAO was just such a huge game, so it didn't feel that obvious. In ME1 this was mitigated by mission design, there weren't as many main missions as in ME2, but they were pretty long and you had a sense of progression as you move from one place to the next. The final mission was a good example,it felt pretty grand, because it went on almost without any interruptions all the way to the epic finale.
In ME2 they tightened it up a little, and it made the game more action packed and somewhat more diverse, but the immersion suffers slightly in my opinion. Did wonders for combat though, and made the gameplay itself more fun, I'll admit.
Anyway, my point is, if there were some good missions to take your full team to before the final assault, it would make you feel more like a huge undertaking..some preemptive strikes, diversions..anything. But that's just my opinion.
Also about the trilogy. It really makes you think about the scope of the choices you make - with three games, imagine if some small choice you made in ME1 blows up in your face in ME3. I always thought, that what these games lacked, is living with the choice. It always felt like if anything goes wrong - you just reload and try a different approach, sometimes trying all the dialog options, for example, in one go. You kinda wanted it to not let you do this - make a choice, and deal with the consequences, at least on a first playthrough. But gameplay would suffer I guess, so it is not a viable option. But with choices carrying over, BioWare has created this situation and I am eagerly awaiting to see how all this pans out in ME3, not to mention hat it just has to be absolutely epic..it has to be!!!! Although I suspect, they will just make you gather armies this time around. Hopefully there will be more besides that... Gather your army/team has been done to death. The ME universe has potential for much more than that.
Uhh, slightly longer than I wanted it to be,so...This exchange is over. Releasing control

I guess, why they tried to avoid ME1 companions, especially those you can have romance with, because they didn't want to give them any chance of dying in suicide mission at the end of ME2. So I'm pretty sure that Liara, as well as one of the surviving human members from first Normandy will play large role in 3rd game. They made sure of it, by keeping them "safe" in ME2.

Liara seems like the only character that for sure survives so far. Wrex, Ash, Kaidan from ME1 can possibly die, everyone from ME2 can possibly die... it should be interesting to see how former characters fair and how big their roles will be.
I also agree, MinderMast, that if they had done a few more bigger missions before the climax it would of felt a bit more... complete. As it is it really seems like 1) Find companions and make them loyal 2) Enter Relay.

Okay question:
So there are conflicts on the team. So far I have only seen 2 conflicts occur -
Miranda and Jack
Legion and Tali
Anyone know the others ?? Btw, to make them occur simply take the two teammates on a mission and joker will inform you of a "fight" occouring between said characters... so I hope someone can help me complete the list.
1 and 2 are still amazing.

Oh I wondered what was triggering those... I imagine Grunt and Garrus might have altercations? Interesting, will have to test this out to find all them.

Taking them out on missions together doesn't have anything to do with why they fight.

Btw, the "fight" occurs after the mission is finished and when you are on the normandy.
1 and 2 are still amazing.

Mass Effect. Overall good. Linear missions. RPG elements removed. Epic story. Can't wait for third installment.

If there is a conflict, it will be triggered on its own as you progress through the story.
Jack/Miranda and Tali/Legion were obvious ones, I don't think there are any more like that, at least nothing comes to mind.
As for dumbing down, I actually agree with that. They have Dragon Age for the full on RPG experience, ME was supposed to be different from the start, and I liked it more since I am more of a real time combat and sci-fi fan. The first ME kinda had too many leftovers that didn't really do too much, and only confused the heck out of you. For example with hundreds of items in the inventory, with most of them completely useless, or with ambiguous benefits...ammo types were the most confusing thing for me.

No, no hardware PhysX. There aren't any physics effect to speak of that would require hardware acceleration.

I don't even know why it needs PhysX at all, apart from minor ragdoll I've seen nothing that even exhibits any physics of any kind :\
