ME2 is a third person shooter - they stripped all the "boring" stuff. You'll love it.

You're talking about romance ? Spoiler: | Jacob - Garrus - Thane |

It's a known bug, randomly you'll get some Renegade points for nothing. The first exemple is when you rescue Spoiler: | Mordin Solus | . The game will give you +5 Renegade points for no reason at all.

Damn that's fucked up, can anyone else say they had the same problem?

Goddamnit... since I had just about nothing to do last night, I started a new save (even though I told myself I wouldn't!), and while my level/stats/weapons are intact, my Renegade/Paragon isn't. It's back to zero. Now, is there any specific way to earn points (don't care for wich, i want to almost max out both them), other than just "play the game"? I'm thinking of some XP-farming equivalent..

I just finished the suicide mission Spoiler: | but there wasnt much suicide about it, i prepared for the worst and the ending was pretty epic but i think the ending could have more dramatic impact on who you choose, i mean i choose garrus as the leader of the 2nd fire team party because of his tremendous skills of fighting off enemy's against all odds and his loyalty and history i had from ME1 but the only thing i saw he was a bit injured and shepard taps him on the back. i would have loved to see him kill lots of reapers in some dramatic fashion showing his loyalty to me and his skills he had developed when leading an elite squad and even perhaps dying for the rest of his squad no matter what you choose. Same goes for some other teammembers but ah well it was pretty cool in the end, i lost no team members and i always choose Legion and Thane those 2 are pretty strong teammembers. |
I cant wait for ME3 i hope they the find the ideal balance between RPG and Action cause it had not enough RPG elements for me compared to 1 and the side missions when finding an anomaly were a joke, but i just played all the loyalty missions to have the feeling of a cool side mission.

I was afraid of lack of those rpg elements, but I don't feel disappointed. The story and sidequests are state of the art. The world creation, dialogues, characters - it all makes up for the rpg elements. I don't miss lack of gun statistics... who cares if it just works.
What I don't quite get is the research, why most of it is grayed out? It seems to unlock kinda randomly.
I also don't like the squad AI, they tend to die quite quickly. Still, the enemy AI is not that bad.

Is there a way not to loose Miranda's loyalty when I interrupt her quarrel with Jack? Or Jack's loyalty if I take Miranda's side |

research unlock requirements are stated pretty clearly.
usually it says you need one more submachine gun damage upgrade or something, so then you need to find a submachine gun damage research item on a mission somewhere and research it, which will then unlock that greyed out item.
it's not random at all.

Okay what the heck. Somebody here mentioned that the framerate in the xbox 360 version isnt bad and that it has improved since the first game..
I just played it and the framerate is even worse than Mass Effect 1! This one is locked at 30fps. Just terrible

No framerate issues for me either.
I'm 8 hours into this game and I'm loving it so far. I've barely scratched the surface and infact I'm still assembling my team. How anyone can finish this game in 17 hours without skipping a load of good shit is beyond me.

i recruited everybody, did all their loyalty missions and beat the game in about 19 hours. i honestly didn't try to rush it. i'm now traveling to random planets looking for missions but they are not as much fun as the loyalty missions.

If you like alot of braindead enemies, that all behave the same, alot of "BLAH BLAH BLAH", and seriously cut down character development..
And rail shooter type of maps.
Then you'll love this game.
