Is it just me or are there a lot more viruses on usenet releases. Usenet is really starting to suck. Between the viruses and passwords its almost a bad as torrentz. I have to have a vm up and running with sandboxie for releases and keygens. Fuck this!!!

Yes its really getting worse. They already rebuild gigs large releases and put their trojans into. The problem is you wont see the responses to such posts if you use web based indexers. Only solution is to use a NZB indexing service like newzbin or a newsreader that allows server side searches to read the related posts and responses. Or just download only posts from known/trusted sources. Basic rule for the net anyway, same goes for a good anti virus. Microsoft Security Essentials is not because it gives you an alert for nearly every keygen or crack. Good luck!

There have been always retards uploading fake releases and whatnot, it's nothing new. Usenet is just more famous and accessible now, so such things are inevitable. Whenever something good grows too much, it'll attract more and more shit.

eh... i use them both if ur gonna go to sleep and u want some things i get teh torrents going.. less hassle and ur sure they r legit (if u read the comments)

And no/very rare with viruses on proper scene releases, the source doesn't matter^^
Popularity = Viruses. Usenet has gotten more popular over the last couple years, so now it's attracting the scum who just want to ruin everything. Luckily for me I get all my stuff from NZB index sites (proven sites like NZBSRUS and Matrix) so at least there's feedback on uploads.
