If anyone could spare a key that'd be great. The place where I preordered (and I want to buy it from there) were out of keys apparently...

Point is I have some spare time now, next week I won't. And I can also cancel my preorder if it is really bad.

I finally get on..fly to a sector to do a mission and the server blows up. This is not an encouraging "beta" considering it is almost over.

They promised they would upgrade the servers a while back and that the new stuff were on the way. If I had to guess, they are likely trying to integrate the new rigs into the park and that's the possible cause of the frequent downtimes in the past few days.

I'm saying this because there has been a slow increase in connection quality lately. Earlier, it was virtually unplayable when the american side of the world got home and connected (early evening in Europe). Now there is a larger interval between the game getting extremely laggy and the usual flood of people playing.

Have to agree about the paart about leaving out the bridge. It would have been so awesome fighting these battles in the captains chair.

More or less how most people felt - lots of good to start, lack of progression in beta made people worried, and dislike, then the big patch making it good again, and now crazy server issues close to release.

Certainly a roller coaster. Guess we'll see how launch goes. Though I think I'll play GA instead.

*laughs* Yep, that's pretty much about it. The game has massive amounts of potential, and as long as they can keep the game-breaking bugs to a minimum, and put a steady stream of new content, I reckon this MMO will last a good long while.

It's not WoW (thank fuck...) but it has enough gameplay and lore to keep casuals playing.

Im torn on this. I really quite enjoyed what I played of it.
I love that you get the crew and stuff that are almost like pets.
Im a big pet class player. In EQ Necromancer was my favorite and if any game has any sort of pet class, well. . . that's what I will usually try first.

Im leaning hard on buying it. I enjoyed what i played of it more than I have any other MMO I have tried in recent memory. Last thing i got real hyped about was Warhammer. With this game, i didnt know anything about it. maybe that was a good thing. i didn't get overhyped and was instead pleasantly suprised.

I have a feeling it will become repetitive fairly quick. I simply do not think there's enough content to keep me happy beyond the grace period, which is fine really as one month of gaming for 49€ is more than acceptable.

Let's just say I'm going to keep my EVE Online accounts Very Happy

STO for as low as 29.99€ on www.gt2play.net now. I pre-purchased it for 49.99€ a few days ago on Steam lol. Guess I'm not going to use them much anymore as they're always the most expensive.

I'm assuming you guys are using ATI cards and are trying to do Starbase 24 Interior? If that's is the case, then this is a known issue with ATI cards. The temp fix is to lower lighting down to 2 when indoors, no crashes that way.... and you can always up the lighting when your back in space.

Yeah, turned off Post-Processing to get through the mission. Can't believe the haven't fixed it yet though, it's been there since closed beta.

And guess what. They still have server-capacity problems.

So this is a Cryptic issue then? I thought it was the good old ATI drivers giving me shit again.

..... Jesus H Christ .....

The game has only just gone live and it's not only STILL fucking broken from the hastily rushed open beta, but they're even announcing MORE pay-for content!?

Urgh. Desire to purchase game is waning.

Even though the game does have its fair share of problems, I'm enjoying it quite a bit.

Edit: Just played Starbase 24 for the past 2 and a half hours. Great fun getting first place and getting all the rare loot.

I know it's hard for some to look past all the current issues, but the game is decent enough for me. Joined a fleet a few days ago, and it really made it more fun for me to play. I only do about 2 hours a day so maybe that's why...

I don't mind the C-Store, it's optional content, strictly cosmetic shit. I got 500 points because of my pre-order, and I didnt even bother buying the other 2 races. It's like 50 fucking cents for one species, and $1.50 for the other. Still, I dont see why anybody wouldnt want to make a custom species anyway....

What else can you expect from cryptic. Look at champions online, it was the same thing. They cut back on lots of costumes just to release it in their cash shop on release day.
