Probably related to their head or eye model or the animations for it or perhaps a problem with the effect when their eyes go black/white.
(When "possessed" or that other thing they do, Justicar also uses some meditation like effect.)
Could perhaps be fixed with a patch but there's probably other things to correct that are more serious, didn't have any issues though aside from a package delivery quest not completing when I took the Paragon based solution with it.
(Loading times could improve as well, that stuff with how the animation needing to be finished is a bit bothersome, still there are replacement videos available and several videos do skip if the game finished loading before they finish animating like the normandy elevator ones.)

i noticed when i was creating a character, the eye (characters right eye) went weird...
and as for the game, a couple of times i was about to bust out of the level a bit.. even when i didnt intentionally TRY to do it... was really annoying, they should fix that
also, how will save games be handled for me3? just a normal save game will do it, or what? basically what do i keep hold of when i uninstall the game, anyone know? im guessing i just keep the entire savegame character folder, that should be enough i hope.

well thats just it... either the 'carry over' will be superficial, or limited to a handful of 'major' events, so i doubt its going to be that difficult to incorporate the choices made.
it WOULD however, be really cool if they had gone all out and literally made every choice matter... ie: every person you talked too recorded a flag of 'good, bad, indifferent' in how their interactions with you turned out, and saved that info to your profile - if those characters turn up in the next game, they would respond to you in a suitable way, based on me2...
what im saying is that it'd be cool to see what all those people i slapped around with renegade options, think about me now
but i doubt theyd go THAT deep into our options in the second game. itd be damn cool if they did though, that'd make the immersion pretty amazing.
either way... its gonna suck waiting another 2 years for the next one

The irony is, EA is also the one responsible for the dumbing of ME2 into a shooter... :\ |
Fine by me. I like RPGs but ME is much more enjoyable if I run and gun. |
I wish they would have reached a compromise between the RPG and action elements. It's not that hard really if you think about it. Leave the RPG part for the guys that actually enjoy it (and have a bigger attention span - no offense but the RPG elements we're pretty dumbed down as it is in the first one... shitty console inventory system excluded)
Improve the action elements -> like they did.... well maybe don't rely on the cover system that much. You can see an ambush coming as you first enter a room (uuuu what pretty boxes).
As for the appeal to the casual gamer. I have a friend which is the typical casual gaming type and of course he didn't finish it.
Why you ask? Well it was too long for him and considering the game is pretty short compared to other Bioware titles I hope they don't apply the "improve" logic in the third installment.
Characters I consider throwing out the airlock.....Grunt(UNGA BUNGA - me smash...me retarded) . Fuck the fact you can't recruit Wrex back. If Grunt is the future of the krogan species then they need something more than the genophage.
The guy isn't that bad in a fight but please....Wrex Veteran Battlemaster and on top of that a biotic. Makes the new guy look like a pussy not adding the fact that Wrex can tie a sentence together.

well i think they were right to tackle the rpg'ing side of the game... obviously they went a tad too far, but i think they were right to not leave it as it is. for whats essentially a shooter, it shouldnt be as bogged down with micromanaging bs as it was. i think it needs to be bumped up a bit for the next game, but definately not left at the levels of me1 as you suggested.
fun combat though. i think they got that part right. and i dont think youre EVER going to get rid of cover systems, theyve just become too popular for console-based action... but hey i dont really mind it that much. sure it makes fights predictable because of level design, but as a gameplay mechanic its fun and works nicely.
perhaps they should incorporate new features like lying prone or being able to create temporary shield walls (i mean the enemy seems to freakin have em..) - that might free up the level design to become a little less predictable seeing as im sure theyll keep the cover system... heck, adding a prone position for open ground fights to lessen your profile, might be a cool idea too.
but in summary, combat gameplay was great.. LITTLE too much lacking in rpg, but they had the right idea to move away from how it was handled in me1... just went a tad too far is all.
far as characters go, only one i wasnt too keen on was that black dude, but i didnt HATE him.. he was kinda alright.. i hated glass-face though, but i dealt to her... oh yeah did i deal to her hated that miranda chick and edi at the start, but it was cool to see i kinda warmed up to em by the end, specially edi. didnt care much for that assassin either, but he never bothered me or anything, i just ignored him and never used him for missions. blue chick, garrus (my main team), and legion in the end were my favs.

pirated ME2 + payed cerberus network = ? |
I'm not sure if it'll work, if you use a CD-key made with the keygen. I bought a digital download version from EA-store and just used the CD-key on the Razor release. Works perfectly. Better than the EA-store version, since it'll work even if my internet connection goes down.

i dindt like the ending to this game, it is not cinematic enough, they could have really tried to make it even more dramatic imo, the way people can die is so lame, oh i shut a door and get shot! it should be crazy choices like if you pick the wrong person they should throw a grenade and it comes back to them, crazy death you know. Or if you pick the right person for the second team they be popping off heads like rambo in an uber amazing scene with tits.
I just felt it was a bit bland considering the rest of the game.

Well I've finished it also. While I was really hyped about ME1 and in the end disappointed, this one was quite the opposite.
But first the bad. Theres too little weapons and armours. Skills are dumbed down. Story is again forced down one path (but it is a bit better). While in first one you were forced to be Specter and do what council wanted, here you are forced to do what Illusive one wants. Ending sequence is again only real decision that you have. Writing could also use some work. Some of the dialogues are quite annoying.
I hated planet scanning for minerals, so I just cheated there and gave myself enough minerals and saved myself couple of pointless hours. I still explored whole galaxy for side missions as some of them were quite fun all thanks to new combat system. The one in ME1 was just awful compared to new one. Its cover shooter, but there is a lot of variety and tactics in it. Geth, three different mercenary groups, Husks, Reapers all have different feel to them.
And quests are fun, almost all of them. All side quests are much improved over ME1. There is no lame counting of Keepers, no generic boardings of ships, no generic planet combat missions. Quests have unique graphical and gameplay feeling. (I really liked the one with huge spaceship balanced on a cliff.)
Overall its a better game. Some things are dumbed down. But the important ones like quests and combat system are improved.
ps. Whats with Miranda?
Spoiler: |
First she coldly kills that guy in first level.
Then shes directly responsible that there is no one on board in abduction mission.
Third, she betrays I-man in the end and wants you to destroy that base.
Anyone knows if its possible that shes killed in last battle?

Great, I'll make sure she gets killed for ME3 save.
I'm paranoid and don't want any potential traitors in the future.
In fact, maybe its best for all of them to die... Just to be sure...
That only leaves EDI

I still can't figure out what choices this depends on. Is it purely based on who you choose? Everyone was loyal in my team and I think I chose the best people for teh task, yet still two died.

I think it has to do with the upgrades. Who dies ? Techs ? Biotics ? Had you done all the upgrades for those classes ?

It's dependant on several factors;
Who to put in charge of key actions during the last mission.
How fast you went on the rescue mission after the crew was abducted by the Collectors.
Whether or not you've accomplished the loyalty missions.
How many ship upgrades you've performed.

Geez people still asking the same old question... You need everyone loyal and your ship fully upgraded and the right people for the right tasks. Its pretty obvious who to pick. You wont send Jack to the tunnel if he clearly says that you need a tech specialist to do the job and seeing as you only have 2 tech specialists in your team ( Legion and Tali ) then anyone else sent there will DIE. The list who to send for a specific job has been posted several times. Can we move on now?

garus wrote: | Yeah, these choices who dies and who doesn't are pretty artificial and forced. |
which is great to be honest. it meant i could target out the weeds for eradication from my beautiful garden, as it were.
but honestly i didnt find it too artificial... who lives and who dies depends on how much effort you put in, whether you upgrade, and whether you assign the right people to the right jobs. the final battle isnt supposed to be some kind of random fluke-fest, i think that would undermine the whole concept of your character leading the team and trying to keep them alive.
