If you have the Reloaded version of Borderlands start regedit and go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Gearbox Software\Borderlands

or its x86 counterpart.

There you need to fix installsource and installfolder

"InstallFolder"="x:\\Borderlands\\Binaries"
(the binaries folder needs to be there)
"InstallSource"="DVD"

After that the patches n stuff should work fine.

Thanks for that! Great stuff =)

The InstallFolder should be the DVD drive path, or the path to where the game is installed?

Very cool, thanks for the info. I bought the retail game and the 1st DLC but decided not to spend any more money on the game. I'm running the cracked retail now.

I actually tried the cracked DLC with Steam and it worked, but I don't want to get banned, so I threw the Reloaded version on mine.

This registry path change thing looks interesting though.

It's about where the game is installed.

Cheers Blackclaw I'm running it on xp x86 and after changing the reg path to suit that the alterations to install source and installfolder meant the rzr patch went in sweet as a nut.

The Reg stuff is only for the RLD version. Since they used some digitaldownload version not the retail dvd as source which prevented the patches from accepting the game.

EDIT: After a quick google search many suggest to uninstall physix and use the most recent from the nvidia page.

And for a friend of mine it helped to install the Visual C++ Redist packs.

I had problems on my 2nd computer, running xp 32 bit. Thanks for the reg key upload Sabin. When I uninstalled the Steam version to run the 2nd, cracked, DLC, I ended up just copying over the directory from my 32 bit PC. Although Steam worked with the cracked DLC, I have too many games to take a chance of getting banned.

The info about the physx and visual c++ certainly look applicable to my problem, so I will try those out.

I have a question for people with the Razor1911 release, since I just went ahead and downloaded it because my fucking reloaded iso got corrupted somehow and errors out at 98%... When you patch the Razor version, do you need to have each pach, or are they cumulative? Also, I figure all I have to do is copy the DLC folders over to activate the DLC. It worked for me on my Steam version, so I don't see what it wouldn't work for the Razor. I'm just curious if I need the Razor patched for 1.01, 1.2.0 or whatever they are or if just the new 1.2.1 will do the trick from initial Razor install. Anyone know?

the update installs ok, that' not the problem.
fact is the crack isn't working on some systems. (look at the comments on rlslog for example)
hope there will be a crackfix, or at least a solution for those concerned.

You need to make sure you have a complete VisualC redistributable install.

Jeez you can see why apart from the erstwhile JBeckmann most peeps are reluctant to provide assistance to others jammed up with a fault.
Blackclaw was pretty specific on who the fix would work for ( ie those with the RLD release who wanted to run the 1.21 update patch rzr had included with their crack.
I grabbed blackclaw's fix with both paws and was pleasantly surprised to see that not only did the patch instal (where previously it crashed early in the process)l but the game ran straight away. No more mucking around with C++ redists, or DX updates.

After a couple of us thanked blackclaw he/she then got subjected to the usual tirades anyone kind enough to lend a hand cops.
Those drongos who were too stupid to follow the simple instructions, of too silly to recognise that this fix doesn't apply to every circumstance, immediately took to abusing blackclaw accusing him of egoism,r incompetence or both.
name calling of the sort practised by pencil dicked adolescents in their high school playground became the order of the day because little jimmy couldn't get his game going.
Outstanding gratitude skills.
