Well, the main thing they mentioned in the review is the length of the DLC. It's obvious it's pretty short since originally it was a part of the game. Laughing At least we get the full package.

Quote:
Ubisoft will attempt to circumvent the PC piracy issue with its new Online Services Platform.

Now would be a rough time to have the Internet drop out.

Perhaps the most controversial element of Ubisoft's Online Services Platform system is that gamers will be required to be connected to the Internet during their entire play session. The enabled-Internet requirement is necessary across all game modes, including single-player and multiplayer options. If players lose their connection during a session, the game will pause and resume once the Internet is restored. Players will also be required to sign up for an account on Ubi.com...

....As for the perks, the Online Services Platform means that gamers will not need the game's CD or DVD to play after installation. Gamers will also be able to resume their game session from any PC, due to the fact that saved games are stored on Ubisoft's online servers. The publisher notes that if it stops supporting its Online Services Platform, a patch will be released so that "the core game play will not be affected."

Ubisoft also said that the online authentication server will not limit the number of installs for any given game, a common complaint lodged at other digital rights management services. However, only one play session per Ubi.com account can be active at a time....

I'm sure the crackers will find a way to crack it.

Avatar protection has very little to do with the new Ubisoft protection, so your reasoning is flawed. Smile

A don't think it will be good for Ubi to make this protection. What about users without internet? If my connection stops for a day because of a big problem? It will be worse for them if they do that. The piracy doesn't stopped COD MW2 to become a bestseller.

Both DLC are included, but I'm sure you won't be able to just skip to them, that would be retarded.

Then you should have waited for the PC version instead? Laughing

AFAIK they were supposed to bring memory replay option when the 2nd DLC for consoles is released, but that's exactly what it its- memory REPLAY. You have to pass the game to replay memories, and both DLCs fit into the story.

Actually there are three DLC now.

http://www.pcgameshardware.com/aid,704417/Assassins-Creed-2-PC-version-coming-in-limited-First-Edition/News/

So to recap first run will be limited and even the normal version will include all three DLC, black/white and digital deluxe download versions will have other items and also include the DLC and after it's sold out the normal edition will only contain the first two DLC.
(Those "missing chapter" ones, unsure what the third DLC is about aside from it's name.)

EDIT: Just download a savegame, sure it has that online save stuff but that's optional.
(As I described in the Settlers 7 topic.)

There's the digital deluxe here http://www.gamersgate.com/DD-AC2DD/assassins-creed-2-digital-deluxe-edition or here http://www.gamersgate.co.uk/DD-AC2DD/assassins-creed-2-digital-deluxe-edition but I've only seen the normal edition in retail stores like Play.co.uk and Game.co.uk, Ubisoft online has it but that's US exclusive, might be in other places though.
(Steam only lists the normal edition as well.)

EDIT: Even stores like Amazon only show the normal PC edition.

i have many doubts it will be quickly cracked. from what i read it will be similar to steam anyway. it will require an uninterrupted internet connection to play both single or multiplayer and how you crack the online saves of your gameplay then? maybe an emulated UBI server should be done here Laughing

http://www.neoseeker.com/news/12943-ubisofts-new-drm-sees-authentication-cloud-saves-update-/

Quote:
Update: a new Ubisoft FAQ states if any of the titles become inaccessible should the service shut down, they'll release patches to make them playable. Additionally, if your connection is interrupted, the game will pause and try to reconnect; if it is unable, you can resume from where you left off, or the last saved game.

Quote:
Update 2: Blue's news has an expanded FAQ which reveals save games will be stored locally and remotely, though will still require a net connection to access them normally (the local saves, we can conclude, are for when you are unable to reconnect to the service). Also, broadband is not required, and reselling your game is no longer an option
