is it straightforward? As in:
-Main missions and side missions working properly if both are active (directions, AI, etc)
-You have a clear objective (yet allowing for multiple possibilities of completing)

At least that's how it was with the russian version. Dunno if they changed any of that in the English version or with the 1.6.0.2 patch.
There was a work around for this though.

I have everything at maximum (+dx10 dynamic lighting) and it looks mediocre. There seem to also be some glitches when shooting trees, the decals don't appear correctly.
The weapons look like SHIT, exactly like the first STALKER. I mean, seriously.
And to top it off, it has some intermittent stutters. STUTTERS on MY PC ? I was playing GTA 4 and Crysis Warhead on max you fuckers !
EDIT: I'm on x64, too, big freaking whoop.
EDIT 2 : Subtitles <> Speech

Yeah I run on x86 RTM 7, gonna look for and try this workaround you're reffering to.

Posted it earlier in this thread: tonizito wrote: | Here's a fix for those running the game on a 32bit OS to unlock the max textures:
http://www.mediafire.com/?yrmmhyaav3y
(Extract these to your CoP root folder)
Even though 3-4Gb of RAM is recommended I'm running it with only 2Gb (plus an HD4890) without any problems so far(XP SP3). |
Remember that this was for the russian CoP, no idea if it will work for the english version. If it does, after changing the texture slider you'll notice some differences right away.

Obviously your definition of a "fine" game is different to most peoples, hence the PC gaming industries dwindling sales. Some people will play with shit just because its there.

ME2 is consolified shit, choices hardly have any weight to them and the whole game is surrounded by the typical Bioware closed in box environment with pretty surroundings in which you can barely interact with. Oh look this chick has hot tits and a little slit on her unifrom between her legs, quick 15 year olds boner time, fuck the gameplay. Here are some more choices that mean nothing to distract you.
Looks like the way you think works both ways.

Ufff, stuck again. I'm at that crashed helicopter that's surrounded by a mine field now. I get to it and search it through. And then (after a pack of mutated animals has been already blown up by the mines) a radioactive anomaly is about to strike down. Map says where to seek а hiding spot but problem is i can't locate it.
...?

Awaiting the witty comeback......
Borderlands was ok
Fallout 3 was ok
Final fantasy 7 +8 were good.
For a late 2009 -early 2010 game it looks like shit unless of course ME2 is just absolutely fantastic and miles ahead of any other title ?? no its not really its just current gen , unlike this game which has graphics like farcry and im being very gernerous there.
Ahhh i see i missed a witty comeback , by your standards then we should all accept doom 1 graphics as long as the story line is involved ? i do agree that storyline is important but it must be matched by todays standard of visuals. This isnt the visuals in this are pathetic compared to even last early last years offerings.

Yes i am , im afraid it may play like a dream but if you think the MAJORITY of game buyers will put story over visuals you are mistaken. The console arena has changed many things and its impact on pc gaming is more than obvious , i hate to say it but its true.

Yea but the STALKER series were never meant to the MAJORITY of game buyers.
Sure, GSC added some stuff in Clear Sky like faction wars and the upgrade system but the core of the game remained pretty much unchanged. And CoP is even closer to home(Shadow of Chernobyl) in most regards, so it's not like they're trying to reach a new "audience".

But why make the visuals a lot worse than the previous game... It's retarded. They couldn't be bothered to put a bit of effort in and make the graphics look better, or at least as good as the last game.
