Wait, aside from the probable photoshop for the prone thing, the game already went through the factory and the copies shipped to retailers? Really? The beta is still going on! Confused

Are they going to do the usual Day 1 patch thing or something?

Apologies if it's been answered but what is the easiest way to get Veteran status? I want that damn M1 Garand.

You'd think the "limited edition" would have all the extra goodies but no, not these days.

No way I'm buying previous games just for this.

That's what I've been after something like that.
I hope in the full game, instead of the rush game mode, all though good.
I hope you can play in the whole map size?
Like in the mountains n all but i doubt it?

I think theres a reason theres so much WW2 stuff in the game, read from the classification board:

Quote:
Battlefield: Bad Company 2

Platform: Windows PC, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360
Share |

Rating: Mature

Content descriptors: Blood, Strong Language, Violence

Rating summary:

This is a first-person shooter featuring two modes of gameplay: single player, in which players control soldiers on a mission to stop terrorists; and multiplayer, in which players engage in team-based combat ("Conquest," "Rush," "Squad Rush," and "Squad Death Match"). Both modes involve using machine guns, rifles, grenade launchers, and rockets to kill enemy soldiers on the battlefield. In single-player mode, players conduct missions on an unnamed Japanese island during World War II and then move into the modern day through jungles, deserts, and snowy terrain. The firefights contain realistic gunfire, loud explosions, cries of pain; large sprays of blood come out of injured characters during the fast-paced combat. There are also close-up depictions of knife-stabbing (flesh-impact sounds) and melee attacks with a power drill. Multiplayer mode tends to involve more goal-oriented tasks, such as "capturing-the-flag," destroying and defending crates, point-based fighting. Characters use profanity (e.g., "f**k," "sh*t," and "a*shole") during cutscenes and in the heat of battle.

Hah, second screen is the beta map isn't it, looks just like that in-game, later levels look a bit more impressive however, not as bright (Winter environment.) and a bit less restricted based on those previews, SP levels look even better based on the unpacked loading screen data some people have dug up. How many maps will be in Battlefield: Bad Company 2? 8, 10, 16 or more? We don't know for sure, but here is what we do know.

Tactical Field Guide on UltimatePrestige.com lists 8 maps
Members on BFeditor.org forums found 10 map loading screens in the PC beta
DICE programmer, Mikael Kalms responded to a tweet asking how many maps there will be a launch and quoted this from an IGN review published back in December.
@Kalmalyzer Its really a great game you got here Smile May you tell me how many maps we see at launch?

@Remon255 http://bit.ly/9ihfMS - "there will be at least 16 new multiplayer maps"
It's possible not all the maps have been posted on UltimatePrestige.com and not all of loading screens were finished by the time the PC beta went out.

There is a rumor posted by BadCompany2Blog.com stating that Strike at Karkand is coming as free DLC post launch. The source seems to be a friend of a friend of a friend so I wouldn't take this too seriously, but it could be a possibility. Karkand still is a big time favorite of Battlefield 2 players.

A Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Interview on Eurogamer.de talking with DICE's Charles Magnusson in German indicates they are considering adding co-op support to the military shooter sequel, though it's not clear if this will be through a post-release patch or DLC, or what (thanks Joker961 via play.tm). Here's Google's translation of the comment: "We have decided once to integrate additional game modes in multiplayer mode. We must always decide what we implement. Our studio does not have infinite resources. Nevertheless, we want to integrate Koop in the game. The fans just need to have some patience and trust us." When they inquire if this will be through DLC he said (with a smile): "Let's see what the future brings."

Does everyone still get those random disconnect while ingame or was there a way to fix that? Hate that crap.
They hope to get the patch with stability/performance fixes out for the beta...that release can't come soon enough.

Edit: I think Game had the best prices.

Jesus, the lag combined with weaksauce stopping power turned the last couple of matches I had into a clone of MW2.

Player 1 sees Player 2, P1 shoots P2, P2 is hit by a full magazine but doesn't drop, closes the gap and stabs P1.

Meh.

Or learn to aim. Still a beta and PLEASE realize that before you compare it to a full game. Yes the game has gone gold but we dont know what version that is or how many patches they are gonna get done before launch.

This is tons of fun, though I am definitely gonna play this come launch ..gonna see if I can find a team to play with

I think it was already said that the PC beta build is relatively old. The X360 demo for example is a newer build, so I'd imagine there were already more improvements made at the time of the beta release.

I should check out the HC servers, haven't seen any though...

enjoy the beta for what it is, but don't base too much judgement upon it. Its really an old build and nothing more than a glorified demo.

hit detection is off, net code is off, lots of exploits and weird stuff (go try some UAV ramming and roadkilling and stuff).

edit : obviously meant to say glorified demo, not beta
