Yeah I know various choices affect your gameplay in ME2, but I'm wondering if
Spoiler: | you save the Council they talk to you, because on default the council is dead and the human council doesn't walk to talk to you |

Interesting, I have a save with Council dead, and I wondered what would the effect be... I always thought the council will actually be more forthcoming, since it's human and all...I guess not.
To answer the question, the saved council will talk to you...

You will get some nice encounters with the imported save: the asari scientist from Virmire can be found working for Okeer (if you've let her alive), you can talk with Mordin about Kirrahe, Helena Blake is on Omega 4 as a social worker(btw that's my Paragon character, so I'll tell whatever he sees now), you get a photo of your love interest in the captain's cabin, you see how your actions on Feros and Noveria affected some corporations. Wrex will be on Tuchantka if you used charm on him at he made it alive from Virmire. Somehow it feels like a different game when you are playing with the imported character.

Well I gave it another go, it was a glorious disaster hints Spoiler: | DON'T pick Mordin as your tech as he will take one between the eyes
DON'T pick the assassin as the shield carrier or one of your squad mates will die (in my case Jack)
DON'T pick Legion to lead a squad as he will die "no carrier" funny death though |

I picked Jack to make the barrier and Legion, who was in my party, died too. |

Loyalty has a lot to do with it. With no loyalty whoever you pick will fail.
Spoiler: | Also I think the tech guy can die if you pick a wrong guy for the team leader |
In any case all this has been discussed before, a few pages back, if you are interested. There are a lot of choices/consequences/hints and discussions on that.

If you wanna achieve real romance with Jack, you must NOT tap that ass at the first chance you get, she then considers that you are "playing around" and that's the end of that story.

I just finished hardcore difficulty playing as vanguiard. I don't know what most people are smoking but no other class comes even close to vanguard's power. And the comabt is actually fun to play instead of just cover, shoot, cover, shoot. The only problem is the game is too easy playing as vanguard. Going to wait for more DLC's to come out and try it again on insanity.
Hint: take energy drain as vanguard bonus ability and max to heavy drain. You will have about 1000 shields coming out of charge (with +50% tech research and shields).
Great to charge at four enemies and killing them all in like 10-15 seconds, matrix-style. Beats hiding behind a crate like a f*cking c*nt and shooting from time to time.

I finished the game and everyone survived, including my whole Normandy crew. This was my setup.
Spoiler: | Miranda as Team 2 Leader, Tali through the vent to unlock doors. Then I sent Grunt back with Normandy crew, choose Miranda to remain as Team Leader and took Samara to create a biotic shield. |

I played it safe of course, Tali&Miranda for tech and squad |
How did you play the finale? |
Fun to see how other people choose, well here's mine:
Spoiler: |
Soldier on hardcore.
1st phase:
Legion went through the pipes.
Jacob was the 2nd team leader (he did great, arrived to the meeting point early, when I was around halfway there).
2nd phase:
Jack created the biotic barrier (only 'cause I wanted Samara on my team).
Miranda was the 2nd team leader this time around.
Sent Tali to return with the crew.
3rd phase:
Went to face the final boss with Grunt and Samara. It was a breeze.
Everyone survived, the whole thing was pretty smooth. Everyone was loyal, and I had all the possible Normandy and other upgrades.

Bah. Shotguns have very limited usefulness, and I see them being nothing but useless in the upper difficulty levels. There's only two pistols in the game, so if any weapon needs an extra iteration, it's them.
The armour looks cool, though.
I wish they'd release the Hammerhead DLC already. They said it'd come out within two weeks after ME2's release, but time's almost up ('deadline' is tomorrow, the 9th) and there haven't been any news at all.

Don't know if anyone cares, but some info for Ati users...
You can force AA without renaming the MassEffect2.exe if you install the latest Catalyst hotfix. That way you can run the game from the launcher as usual.
Technically you don't need the latest, but might as well get it - link
About DLC... armor is probably still useless, curious about the shotgun though. I rarely used them, may be this one will be more practical... of course I still will need to wait until someone cracks this, if I understand correctly, the current crack only gives you access to the already released DLC.

i get this feeling that no one who plays this game really likes jack... maybe because shes a tatt'd up skinheaded freak or something, i dunno, but on my second play-through i started using her in my squad, and she fucking rocks. Shes virtually always in my squad now, her shockwave rips shit up something fierce, and i never get tired of seeing people cartwheeling through the air screaming... plus shes actually pretty cool, definately one of my fav characters now hope she sticks around for me3, she fucking kicks
still have a couple of side missions to go, 2 sob-story missions and i still have to recruit glass-face... hate the bitch, which is why i leave her till last... oh, and im gonna see to it she dies again at the end while i save everyone else. hawww

do we get to loot earths resources from space? i wanna do that so bad
and @ predator i dunno why you think me2s dlc future couldnt be bright... theres a hell of a lot of backstory to build on, shitloads of places to go, lots of interacting factions in the games story that could provide interesting story missions... shit.. compared to SPACE travel and alien interaction, anything else is LIMITED by comparison, especially dragon age.
zaeeds dlc was pretty good i thought.. not as good deep as shales in da:o, but it was a good start with a nice 'link' to the games core story/universe.
whether or not they actually USE me2s universe to decent enough effect and give us some great dlc expansions, remains to be seen.. but the potential is definately there.
and yeah, besides, you can replay the game as a different class, and take different options from what you did before. if you were playing a pussy.. i mean paragon, you might want to try renegade, or vice-versa.

Did you see zaeed interact with someone? His monologues get pretty boring after a while. I was mainly pointing the fact that the game has been released for a while but instead of announcing some new content the guys keep bombarding us with new weapons and armors in a game that is pretty short as it is.
As for the backstory you're right but still.... this is a game based 25 or 50% on the inner party interaction and main plot line. As soon as you take that away you loose the magic that makes the second part great. Considering half the voice acting staff is either working on the third part of doing something else I'm afraid it's gonna be a pretty shallow DLC experience.
In the end I guess we'll have to wait and see. Many things we're promised for the first part but only two DLC came out.

Well they probably won't offer any kind of additional "interactions" with the dlc because of the ammount of additional voiceovers they'd have to record. Having Shepard actors record some additional lines is one thing, but getting every party member and possibly some npcs to respond to a new party member is probably too much to ask. My guess is that they will focus on gameplay and gear. After the Hammerhead we'll probably see some kind of arena dlc similar to the shitty Pinnacle Station and more gear.
