Hm dont really like it that much. The AIi is retarded, aliens will climb small boxes on the ground LOL looks so stupid. And the "mark marine to go this spot" is also stupid as hell.
Smartgun sound is not right even tho i have heard the sound as background fire in some maps. Pretty average game that could have been great.

*sigh* TB, why is when someone says they dislike a PS3 exclusive, you get all defensive and annoyed? You act as if the PS3 is God's gift to all on earth and that every game on it is a piece of majesty equalled by none and better than anything else that's ever gone before it.
Just sayin' bro.. Personally I haven't played it and I don't intend to either, the gameplay vids and the game info surrounding it make me want to avoid it. Period.

What annoys me is that people judge a game without playing it then go onto forums and spout utter rubbish based on their lack of experience with the game.
It's not actually about PS3's or exclusives but ignorance. |

The thing is, you don't have to buy/own/play a game to form an opinion on whether you think it looks good or not. I don't think Dezz was referring to the graphics when he said it looks crap, else he'd have said "the graphics are shit" - he just said something I have also said; the game ITSELF looks like crap and after being initially interested, I spent some time looking around to see what it was like - and yes, I agree, it looks crap and I won't be wasting £40 on it.

You can have an opinion but it won't be an INFORMED opinion, so why do it?
Surely people want to know about the actual GAME not what some troll who has never played it thinks about it?
All it does it make you look stupid and if you had actually read what I'd written about WKC you's see that I think the game has serious flaws, so please don't attempt to paint me as a radical fanboy, its beneath you. |

Reviews are written by people who DO have informed opinions because they have actually sat down and PLAYED the game.
However, I have been very pleasantly surprised after picking up games that reviewers/previews etc painted as utter crap because they suited my taste and I am sure you have too.

Of course and I don't doubt that for a second, but then... I'm not the kind of person to berate someone for having an opinion about a product they don't own. I've been surprised by plenty of games, and I could name a dozen or more "god this is shit!! absolutely trash!" titles as some of my favourites. I just don't believe that to be allowed to have an option about something (ie; how it looks or how it sounds, etc) you have to OWN it before you're given that right.
That's just me =)

That could be why, patching to Wave 3 alters the partition information on the disk.. so that could be what's making the update fail.
I say "could" because I don't know for sure. I've never had to patch my games :\

Not owning PLAYING, at least then comments are informed and helpful rather than some of the usual tripe.

Finished the Marine campaign today, lasted about 5-6 h on normal, and started the Predator campaign after that but didn't got too far as I have an exam... today(fuck it's late!). Overall it's not bad but it's def NOT AvP3. It's a remake, for me at least, mostly because it's a downgrade from the last AvP (AvP2 was and still is my fav). I was right to sob over the fact that Monolight wasn't doing this one, and was expecting Rebelion to make something bland.
From what I played with the marine, i miss an ironsight option (for marine where the crossair is barely visible for the PR), a real flashlight not that lighter-led-flashlight you have in this game, and a better story. AvP2 had a way better story with the marine, and probably even with the other species.
What I hate the most is the Predator, it's bad design. Dual whristblades... that's hollywood crap! Don't like how the shoulder cannon auto-aims and the HUD's annoying.
Also I hate the weapon limit, i want variety! But that's just me.
LE: There is some disemembering. Well not SoF style anyway. There's some in the finishers and aliens/andriods might lose a head/arm/leg when you shot them but that's about it.

So the "Killer Moves Trailer" is fake? Or is it because you played the PAL version of this game theere is less?
Can anyone confirm if I should wait for a NTSC copy for more blood / gore since the Pal seems to be censored?

Well i haven't played too much with pred and at all with alien. But fro what i've seen it has those gorey kill moves. There's def blood. But as i've said, i've only played the marine campaign and that has 90% aliens and 10% andriods. So i've mostly seen acid/white "blood" puddles.
I doubt there's more gore in the US version though. It's PAL (european) version, not german/aussie.

I have to admit this game isnt that bad at all so I take back my words. The marine section gives you the creeps, its great and I love the atmosphere. Maybe not a 8.5 but a 7.5 will do justice to this game. The graphics reminds my of Doom a bit.
