Pretty much every Ubisoft game post 2004 was bad. Laughing I really loved Assassin's Creed though, so I'm still gonna buy the sequel, I'll let you guys know how is the game in case it doesn't get cracked from day one.

I don't want to be rude or direct you what to do, but why do you want to support a company that clearly shows disrespect to you and all their customers?

Because the developers themselves(by that I mean story writers, coders, programmers, map creators etc) don't have anything to do with the actual protection chosen for the game. I simply want to support the people that did a great work on AC and its sequel.

So if there was a charity that sent half of the money to the Red Cross and the other half to the KKK you'd still donate, right? Very Happy

Did you really compare the process of making the game to KKK? Laughing Yes, I know it's a joke on your part, but still...

If it makes you feel any better guys, I will most definitely download Splinter Cell Conviction. Now THAT is the way to shit all other your franchise, at least AC2 is a proper and good sequel to AC.

Let me guess whats going to happen - people like me (i'm a fucking pirate and never bought a game in my life and i never will simply beacause the prices in my 3rd world country are ridiculous and the payment is super low) will still not buy the game but wait till it's cracked, or if it;s not cracked just say fuck it and play the next scene release. People who were planning to buy it will think twice and maybe a large percent - 50% or more will decide not to buy it and move to the next title. In the end Ubisoft will have 50% less sales beacause of this shit and finally they'll understand that this protection is crap and release a patch to remove DRM. The conslusion is that ubisoft are stupid fucks.

You would be suprised just how forgetful the guys on the top really are in terms of admiting their idiocies. They will stick by it, until the bitter end, and will quietly stop using it in future games. Just like they did with starforce. Everybody was hating it, they were using it, when the harmful effects on the users' computers became a widespread knowledge, they just stoped using it, but there were no efforts to remove that faulty piece of crap from old games.

Sure, they'll remove it, but not because it got cracked or because of unpoppularity. They will do it when they realize it's cheaper to shut it down than maintaining it.

The savegames ARE stored locally, we know that from the beginning since it is stated in the official FAQ.
Some saves are store locally (a set number of saves) then after the number is depleted ,it deletes your old saves from your hdd and moves them to the server side , if it can't connect to the server when the move process has started it deletes all your saves and only stores the last save made on the "unable to connect page" , if you skip this screen you are seriously fucked up if you where at the ending of this game

hahaha and a bit fuck you to you from ubisoft , wow its better then SF Laughing

and i liked the UBisoft press article in which they representatives said that this system will revolutionize the coop experience in the next assassin creeds

lulz NO HAHAHA

Suicidal nazi protection! They keep fighting piracy on PC meanwhile you can download every single new release for XBOX...

What is their next step? New protection where you will need permanent internet connection, retinal scan, matching thermal signature and deep anal probing check...

Then you should pirate the game to hell and back and then send your cash in a letter to the team leader of the developers, completely skipping Ubisoft.

You guys think that any of the money that you spend on buying the game goes to the developers in any direct form? Wow... Laughing
Developers are paid by publishers before the game is released. In fact, the only pay that might come post release is for future support.

So yeah, if you want to pay the developers who have already been paid, send them a letter with cash/check inside.

I don't have a prob with copy protection requiring ONE online activation or such. But constant connection requirement for playing single player game? And storing save game and who knows what other info on ubishit's servers?

Talk about a good way to draw even more people to piracy.

Just remembered that the Securom activation protection originally required re-activation every ten days and in the massive criticism, it was eventually scraped and only the one-time activation remained. This is basicly the same thing, just instead of every ten days, it's every milisecond. How they expect it to be successful is beyond me.

Maybe this is just a test to see how many sales they get? Some games from Ubisoft, recently, have had no protection whatsoever. I hope this game doesn't sell otherwise this system will definitely be here to stay.

No, they're using this piece of shit DRM to stop developing games for PC. Smile

I'm sure when they'll start the marketing campaign for AC3 they will say "AC2 sold so bad on the PC we are not going to continue the franchise, or any other for that matter".

Problem is they had 'tests' before, had a lot of lost sales and criticism than they gave up for the next product.

Another problem is with each 'test' they loose a good share of now former fans and gain none.

Third problem is their idea of a solution to now dramatically low pc sales, result of former 'tests', is another 'test' Confused well good luck with that one Laughing I could tell them the result of this test right now: 3 sales.

Plus the sales of the crappiest Pop ever, called appropriately Pop, had higher sales and no protection, I guess some fans welcomed that no protection policy and bought that piece of shit hoping that future games don't have any drm and now look what they got: a piece of shit.

According to community developer, the game does not return to main menu when the connection drops:

Quote:
There is an error in the article. the game DOES pause if connection is lost, and remains in the pause menu while it tries to reconnect indefinitely. However this is only the case so long as the player does not interrupt the process by trying to access the games menu etc.

I would also add if connection is only lost for a few seconds play continues as normal.
