Will be here either day before release day or release day itself.. they haven't let me down once yet (pre-order all my games here).
This is such a promising demo, and I cant wait for the full game
Ive got to say if you are like me in the sense of "open minded, like games like Fahrenheit pre-WTFhappennedtothestoryeveryoneturnedintodemonsorwhatever, liked films like Se7en and TV shows like Dexter you will absolutely fucking love this games atmosphere (based on the demo alone).
Btw, has anyone else seen the few random things you can do in the apartment that seem to have no immediate effects..? I notice you can lean on the bed, peer out the window, look in the fridge.. stuff like this perhaps in there to alter how the characters react or wut? or maybe some sort of body language traits like these alter the way characters talk to each other? who knows..

Heavy Rain is a story-lead interactive film, essentially - a series of separate scenes (or levels) that unfold a truly moving plot with powerful and compelling questions of morality and real tests of your decision-making abilities. The story is brilliant.
Anybody knows if english (audio and text) will be in one of the japanese version languages? The japanese release date is 18th, and I'm almost importing it from Play-Asia.

Just played the demo and while moving feels kinda awkward I am so preordering this. Awesomeness beyond anything.
Kind of a funny thing, normally I really detest quick time events but I loved Fahrenheit and I really enjoyed the demo of Heavy Rain, which are just QTE galore O.o
I ran into someone last night streaming gameplay on JTV. The stream lasted about 30mins and was cut and went dead. This is not too uncommon.
People were doing this when Bioshock 2 got released on the scene. JTV doesn't go against copyrights, so it was funny to see streams start up and get dumped just as quickly.
It was the full game as I've seen the demo and he was in parts not set to the demo.
Must of got lucky and got an early copy somewhere.
They were giving copies away on the insiders website... 60 lucky fuckers will receive there full game tomorrow or monday the latest...
They are also giving away 1200 special packages with exclusive content like the origami figure, some contests and discount on the full game.
If you are Belgian or dutch you can subscribe yourself there via:
some CUNT has completed the game and spoiled it all over the gamespot, IGN and pretty much every forum related to games. I strongly recommend you avoid the sites for a while :/
Luckily I stopped reading the ending before It was ALL spoiled but I now know who the killer is not sure how important that is or if you find out early on but I hope so..
Just tried the demo..god it's awesome. The most life like animation I've ever seen. Few times I wasn't 100% it's 3d ohh and they seem to apply the game with some AA. Gotta get this game!

Either way, I'd feel better not knowing who did what to who or who the main killer is.
Someone again was brodcasting it on JTV and when I hit the channel credits were rolling. I wonder if were talking about the same CUNT who finished the game already. All I saw was the credits and I've seen bits and pieces of events but not enough to spoil my experience come release day.

When they stream it on JTV or something, that's not that bad, nobody forces you to watch but people who got nothing better to do but spoil it in every forum they can find for everybody (that didn't want to be spoilt) now that's a CUNT
play.com has it in stock
and a guy has it on a french forum : and selling it for only 55 euros, which is ok for an unreleased game
dammit send me my copy over HMV !

@darkbytes - have you played through the game? Do your saves work OK?
I got to chapter 5, sequence 4, quit and now I can't load my save ;/
I can load everything that's before Cemetery in Chapter 4, but nothing after it works.

Ignore PLAY.COM and their 'in stock' bullshit, originally PLAY was a fantastic gaming reseller, they had identified a gap in the market for fast shipping on or before release date at least £5 cheaper than any other reseller.
As they got larger however PLAY branched out into electronics, books and even clothes...here we are two years later and the gamer is forgotten, many people complain of receiving the game a WEEK after release or more, others have stated that while the item has a 'in stock' label the reality is the opposite.
I discovered that what they are doing is 'legally' correct, they state 'in stock' when the title has arrived at a central shipping depot, NOT the companies point of post, therefore it can take another 3-4 days then arrives at the PLAY warehouse for delivery to the customer.
Personally until I woke up to what was going on in PLAY I had four games arrive 5-6 days after launch, some other items missing even.
Now I just use Tronix for any game that has more than a week's disparity between UK-US launch dates.
They are usually cheaper and I get them a day after launch.
Example:
White Knight Chronicles PS3 ordered Friday morning using Fedex International ($13) arrived Monday at 10:00.
The cost INCLUDING courier charges £8 less than cheapest UK price............
I played the demo, and just don't see the enticement. My wife tried it as well, and had the same lackluster opinion.
3 buttons and shaking the controller like mad to scoot past a dumpster?
Multiple button presses and shaking to use an asthma inhaler?
If someone described that as gameplay to most people., they's say GTFO!
I have a feeling that heavy rain will have initial fanboi developement follower sales, but then nosedive pretty quickly.
Especially with things like darksiders, bayonetta, bioshock2, dante's inferno, aliens vs preditor just released, and god of war III right around the corner.
I'm pretty sure that this game that will sell in large numbers due to the hype. After playing the demo I'm sure that this is the type of game that won't appeal to a lot of the people who buy the game and I'm equally sure that I'll be able to pick it up dirt cheap second hand in a few months.
I think my controller is broke...I followed all the screen prompts during the fight with that guy in the prostitute's room, and I got my ass kicked..are you supposed to keep the button pressed as long as it is shown on screen??? especially the ones which come with a time meter behind it?
I tried the demo, and erased it a few minutes later.
Even if the story is a gem, you can't make me enjoy a "gameplay" as bad as this.
I'd rather watch a non interactive FMV than shake my pad like a retard or do 50 QTE in a row.
This david cage is really full of shit, heavy rain is the worst that can happen to video games.
Silly wankers, wanking over this shitty game, wanking over how they make art out of video games.
Seriously, the man himself is so full of himself it's digusting. It's a shame that mass medias are sucking his dick , claiming that he's giving video games the only "mature" and clever games.
Heavy rain' story and narration aren''t great.
Gameplay is total bullshit.
Gfx are just ok.
Hype is everywhere.
Nice, so basically the gameplay is shit because... yes, because of what? Because of it being almost only QTEs? There are, rumoured, to be people who liked Fahrenheit which was basicalyl the same concept.
So because you don't like the game the creator is a douche who should rather stand in a corner and STFU?
Opinions really are like assholes
