the men who stare at goats
6.5/10 - bordering on 7 maybe, but ill stick with 6.5
was fun. really was. it didnt have a solid plot so much as a concept/journey, but the actors made it work...

Taegukgi - 10/10
Rewatched it today for the third time, this movie manages to surprise me every time I see it.
It works so well from so many different aspects.

Just rewatched it 9/10
I started watching it at 2:00 and my father was watching ice hockey... after some time I realized that he wasn't watching the game anymore, but behind me, watching the movie I've never seen him being awake at 4:00
A real family movie

There is a reason why this movie is for 16+ audience in germany, as any other movie with this amount of blood & gore would get an 18+ rating. It's because the movie has a message and is not a simple action flick. Sometimes it's too cheesy but overall a very good movie that displays the ugly sides of war. Still a little bit one sided but a very nice movie

Shutter Island - (quoted from other thread) Great movie. Moderately predictable in some areas but still some good twists and turns. Music was slightly distracting because I got a Matrix vibe from some of the parts (I know this sounds weird but it's not too distracting). Great acting from DiCaprio and the rest of the cast. I suspect some people will think it's too slow moving but I actually prefer a story to move at this pace and build good suspense. I'd call it a 7.5 or 8 out o 10.

Eh, seeing as it's by Tim Burton, I doubt it.

no he probably means literally. it'll angry you up something fierce you wont be able to shit properly for a week.
but thats just you. i like burtons films, theyre usually something different from the traditional hollywood style... planet of the apes excluded of course...
planet hulk -6/10
entertaining enough, but it was like watching a super cheesy version of gladiator. too dumb to be serious, too mature to be a kiddy film... makes me wonder who the hell the audience is supposed to be?

The only Tim Burton I have truly liked over the years is Corpse Bride. While I do enjoy art that falls outside of the mainstream blob, I despise pretentious crap that is done in a manner which sole purpose is to make it different. In fact, I despise it even more than the most shallow of lowest common denominator, because at least these never present themselves as something else.

I've seen the reviews at IMDB and decided not to watch it...

The trailer made it look absolutely horrible imo. I didn't expect a thing.
