SubV, well Elite 4 *is* currently in development by Braben... so cross your fingers that it's not going to be dumbed down console trash.
It's been "in development" for years. I wouldn't anticipate it actually getting released. Don't get me wrong; I'd LOVE to see a worthy Elite sequel/remake. It was one of my all-time favorites. But I don't see it ever happening.
I'll just stick with the simple Elite clone, OOlite.
With top-notch graphics, seamless space-surface trasitions, realistic scales and randomly generated stellar-system/missions would make a pretty damn good game. I still play the original from time to time.
sabin, you might be able to help me on an oldie, vampire-bloodlines.. i think you had mentioned replaying it and using a heap of mods on it, could you list me a list of recommended ones, mate?
cheers
when there is no more room in hell, the D34D will walk the earth

This was a hit in 1991. 19 years ago (I can't believe I said that ). The Tru-Motion used, really was a very cool technological advancement that made this game shine. It was runner up to Sierra's Front Page Sports Football for Sports Game of the Year in 1991. This game actually was so awesome I used to have to kick my friends out of the house at night so the wife and I could get some sleep.

Wasteland (if I ever got to play a RPG, this would be the one, still awesome even after more than twenty years, still kicks the crap out of most modern RPGs)
Elite
Midwinter
Space 1889
Dragon Wars
Buck Rogers CTD
Fate Gates of Dawn (amiga)
Richard Benson: " Durante tutta la mia esistenza, ho avuto sempre un sogno...
(Throughout my whole existence, I've always had a dream...)

Jagged Alliance 2,
X-Com 1 and 2 (maybe even merge the two into one game)
There were attempts at remaking both, but as for JA, those were pathetic, and well.. neither the extraterrestials or the afterX series were that close to the true XCOM feel.
Elite 2/3
There should be a sequel to those, period.
Pool of Radiance
Curse of the Azure Bonds
Secret of the Silver Blades
Pools of Darkness
The original Forgotten Realms ADnD campaign, also known as the gold box adventure, remade for todays computers, possibly even with decent DnD 3rd ed. rules. They tried to do it with Pool of Radiance a few years ago, but its best to just forget about that one.
