Because it seems that the only way people are curing this stuttering is by lowering texture quality to normal ------ and that sounds to me like it's using too much texture memory and the stuttering is coming from swapping in/out of memory.

Anyone with a native 1GB card having stuttering issues?

On the steam forum there are people having the problem despite having 2gb of Vram so it must one hell of a memory leak.

I have also seen people with 1GB of Vram having trouble and the problem happens for both ATI and Nvidia owners in both DX11 and DX9 mode so it must be some messed up thing with the game.

Damn, ok so it's not that then...

The reason I thought that is because the only complaints I've seen are from people who generally specify they have 512MB cards, and I've finished the Marine campaign *and* half the Alien campaign in one sitting on my 1GB card; no issues :\

I tried to ALT-TAB and check the ram usage in task manager while I had stuttering, The game was using 2.20GB of RAM!!!! WTF???

Indeed it is Very Happy I'm wondering if people who are playing the cracked release by Reloaded are having these problems?
I'm also wondering if this only affects people that have had the demo installed, I know it sounds strange but I noticed that when I installed the full game on steam today it somehow remembered the keys that I remapped in the demo, and yes, I did uninstall the demo a few days ago but maybe it can interfere somehow.

Hmm, the game seems to continue to corrupt 1 file (don't know which). 2 times I have verified game cache and each time it finds one corrupted file and then steam redownloads it

Badly coded, as i made some progression i gots some stutters too.
dint really suffer from it at the start of the game.
Tryed diff video option combinations, but it remained, dint go lower than high textures though,
mainly the res, which has much impact on the game as i see.

my 4890 is 1GB, running @ XP

I have a weird issue.
I have finished the game playing as a marine without issues. Now I am playing as alien. I have an AZERTY keyboard so I have to reconfigure my movement keys.
Now playing as the alien the keys sometimes just revert to default setting (only the wasd keys, I play zqsd) This is extremely frustrating. Seems the trigger is when I highlight a vent and jump into it.
Others having this problem to?

Alright, the game installed and started fine as well. Now I have a problem. I have started the Marine campaign and as I wake up and look around and get up, I fall down and die. It's as if I'm in space and there is nothing around me. What's going on? Is this a glitch?

BTW it's the Razor version with their crack.

Guys please help with this problem. It's also happening with the Alien campaign as well. Only the Predator campaign seems to work.

How much RAM do you have? I had GTS250 512MB and 2GB RAM and the game was completely unplayable on v.high and high textures(non-stop stuttering, RAM usage ~95%) but yesterday I added 2GB and switched to Windows 7 64bit and game runs flawlessly even on very high (it takes ~2gb RAM in task manager). Even more I don't have any sound related issues(I had them on 32bit and 2GB).

Well, I bought the game and I have stuttering Galore! I have a Q6600 at 3 Ghz and A Geforce 8800GTS (G92) 512Vram and 2 Gb DDR2 ram on a windows xp 32 bit (A well maintained system) and I can only get rid of the stuttering by lowering Texture quality to normal, all other settings is on max at 1680X1050 with V-sync off.
I have tried the latest official Nvidia driver and 191.07 because somebody claimed that it fixed everything, I can't the difference.
The first couple of Alien levels were simply unplayable with textures set to Very High.

I hope it's a bug that will be fixed as my system is more than recommended.

Well, I've got an Q6600 (G1) at stock too, an GTX260-SSC, 4gb ram and win7 64x.
No problems here, all maxed out and runs fine.

Btw, you're driver isn't the latest. Try this one http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_196.34_beta.html

*This isn't really a beta driver. The latest WHQL one got an bug so you can't overclock anymore. This so called Beta is the same driver but with a fix for overclocking.*

Maybe that's the problem most people have.
Seems like you need Win7 64x and 4GB RAM to play decently. Time to make another step forward into the future guys Rolling Eyes

But that doesn't change the fact that the Recommended (not the minimum) system requirements on my AvP3 gamebox and on the AvP3 steam page is only 2gb of ram, so it's either a memory leak (explains why users with 4 gb ram or more don't have problems) or Rebellion is simply lying or being a bunch of no good amateurs!

Ps. The Steam page HAD the recommended specs up last week, but now they pulled it and it now it only features the minimum requirements Confused
Another good reason why I think this game has a memory leak is because for me Crysis didn't use up all my ram but this game, when it stutters uses 2.20 GB of Ram! Crysis never used more than 1,3 or so with everything on High and Crysis definitely looks better than AvP (not that I think it looks like shit)

There seems to be an updated crack being readied for release, for those who's still waiting on for that. Take a look at the Steam underground forums for details.

Edit: Well, it's out, but still needs you to use cracked Steam client. I am not particularly eager to use cracked team clients along with my legit account, even separately.

Yep, update your game guys. Link is in the underground. But you need SteamUP! to play it. You should get that too, otherwise it won't work.

Fuck, this game is good! The marine part was the best for me, Predator was second and alien was the worst. Im replaying now on a harder difficulty because apart from the boss fights it was rather easy (especially the marine part).

Well, I'm trying to cope with the fact that I an't run this game on maximum settings due to that memory leak (Yes, there people with Gpu's with 2Gb of Vram who has stuttering also, so it's not just my 512 mb card).
Other than that, It's great! I love being a Predator just as in avp 1 & 2 Smile I have just tried a species deathmatch as predator and it was cool, but I think it will awesome when we get dedi servers so we can easily organize some battles Smile

I know, but that must be because of a memory leak as the recommended requirements is a 8800 GTS with 512 Vram and 2 gb ram in win xp, so I hope Rebellion will fix this. Until then I can run with everything on high except for textures in dx9 mode at 1680X1050 so it's not all bad Smile

Since when those "recommended" reqs are true anyway? They all fucked up and just wrong... get over it, your hardware isn't capable for the game and there is nothing we or you can do about it atm.

Because they are fucking wrong in every fucking game. But AvP is special I guess and it's unacceptable, right? You're very naive if you believe in those reqs.
