So im looking at buying this on March 12th(payday), going to hook it up to a 42 inch LG lcd 1080p screen, i notice it say's on the input/output Digital input(optical) doe's that mean, i shall be able to put a digital optical cable from my lcd t.v. to the surround sound, and it will play anything that goe's through the t.v. in surround, i.e PS3/Xbox/Sky?.

If your TV has an optical out, then yes. Not sure if it'll transmit it downmixed or not though, might wanna check up on that first 
Good set btw, got a smaller brother myself (SC-PT560)
