Still waiting to see how this plays out before jumping to conclusions. I do find it odd that slims, and some (all?) 80GB revisions aren't affected though.
Anyone on THIS forum affected? It could just be all BS hype!
No hype, my system is fucked.
It was fine yesterday afternoon, then when I tried to sign in to play MW2 at around 7PM, BAM! Screwed up.
They better fix this shit soon, and my saves/trophies/and purchased games had better be intact and un-fucked. Or I will call them up and give them hell, they better fucking give me free PSN games if anything got screwed with my system.
My friend called me saying he couldnt log in so i tried mine and everything was working fine so i told him to reset his modem/router but i guess it was SONY who had problems after all.
Now i can see all those 360 fanboys posting everywhere that the PS3 is shit when the 360 is the most unstable consoles ever released
oh god it's skynet, it's taken over all PS3s! It's the most powerful supercomputer in the world and it will destroy us all!
run for your lives!!
on a more serious note, I am affected. pal ps3 fat 40gb, worked fine yesterday.
It's just the ps3 beeing unable to verify some information that's causing all the problems like not beeing able to play some games and shit. it'll be fine as soon as they fix it.
Likot Mosuskekim, Woodcutter cancels Sleep: Interrupted by Elephant.
What makes this issue really fucked up, is that you cant even play games offline. Fucking Bioshock 1 doesn't even play. And thats an offline game. Purchased games from PSN don't load. Nothing works.
I dunno somehow my 360 fails to play heavy rain too.
How do you fix that?
Yeah, it fails to play good games like Uncharted 2 as well. Maybe thats a good thing though, we all know what happens when Xbox360 plays good games, they end up RROD after 5 minutes.
LoL Tried to call sony to get an idea ( really just cause I'm impatient and bored) and they straight turned their phones off lol. Theres a message that says we cannot handle your call at this time lol. Classy move $ony , not even some kind of up front message? WEAK.
This is an offline fault. Think of all the numbers of phat consoles effected with no access to the internet. Sitting on shop shelves, in kids rooms, etc. Hundreds of thousands of consoles without direct access to the internet are going to be fucked for a while minimum.
Sony are going to feel this for ages, even if they do release an internet based patch today.
I don't know much about how the internal clock works but I did read somewhere that the clock is behind the hypervisor and protected by it. So I wonder if that would mean if Sony release a patch it would have to bypass some of the consoles security in order to fix the problem.. Reverse engineering their own console lol
Ryzen 5 5600, ASUS ROG STRIX B550-F GAMING WIFI II, Corsair Vengeance RGB RT 32GB 3600MHz C16, MSI RTX 5070 Ti Ventus 3X OC , Corsair RMx Series RM750x. AOC AGON AG324UX - 4K 144Hz 1ms

...and now imagine what would happen if geohot or other crackers get hold of that patch and take it apart. sony will probably try to get it out asap to prevent this clusterfuck from getting any bigger and we all know what happens sometimes if you rush things
