I can't imagine that many other publishers are eager to spend lots of money running the necessary servers while pissing off their legitimate customers. If nothing else, the inevitable DDoS will put an end to such schemes.
Also, even if it takes months to create a crack for AC2, 99% of that work is reverse-engineering the technology. Cracking the next game with the same protection will be much easier. It's a pointless arms race that requires lots of investment for dubious gain.

Hehe, yeah I'd rather spend my money on 100Mb/1Gb boxes to DDoS Ubi's servers with, than giving money Ubisoft and supporting their crazy protection schemes.
Not that I intend to do either of those, waste of time and resources for some game...

Hmm, there is some truth here, but...
If the scene cannot produce a release at time of retail, then everyone with the game until it's cracked is legit. The money they make from the first wave is amazing with any new game, and by restricting the time in which the scene can respond (with tedious and draconian cp) they are riding that wave longer.
Admittedly, i only download a game I wouldn't buy in the first place, cost/fun benefit, but theres a hell of a lot of people who would just get it when it's available and refuse to buy it on the basis that it's freely available.
I know a lot of pirates who bought gothic 3, based on the hype, and the fact it took ages for it to be cracked, some just gave into the pressure i guess. we were all fucking for a while.
but taking months to crack a game, is exactly what this copy protection is for, they release it with a AAA title, it takes months to crack, and when it is broken, they don't care, they've hit their targets with the AAA titles.

hope my sleep deprived ramblings made sense!
Boundle at its finest.. like the little placement there and ur name being "notmeagain" ?
nah he's not boundle. His english is too good, and it's simply impossible that the real boundle could have written that wall of text without having edited it at least three times.

Unless boundle does it on purpose to throw the scent
HAHA boundle It's like we have our own Village Idiot I mean, no small town is complete without the Village Idiot and the drunk sitting on a bench in front of the supermarket

but in the legends and stories, many times this guy that everyone laugh at, became at the end the king;)
small story:
A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away, there was the Village Idiot who used to think that 1 dollar is more then 5 dollars and the paople of the village used to makes jokes and ask him wich bill is bigger and he alway said 1 dollar is bigger and they used to give him the bills.
one day , a traveler came to the village and asked the idiot:" do you realy think that 1 is bigger then 5?"
so said the "idiot" :"of course not, but if i will tell them the truth, they will stop doing it and i will loose , cause better one dollar eatch time then no dollars at all, but....keep it between us;)"

Hmm, that sounds like a Monty Python joke, did you borrow it from the flying Circus?
The most important reason why Ubi will make more money if game remains uncracked for weeks is that as long as it is uncracked peeps will regard it as the holy grail and behave as though they will die of misery if they don't get to play game soon, eventually many will give in and buy the thing, but as soon as the game is cracked this board along with all the other gamer hangouts will fill up with posts saying what a travesty the game is. Some arcane information about who is up who and who is paying the rent at the game devekopers will be dragged out to 'prove' that AC2 doesn't have a bar on AC1.
The game is only desirable and valued when it is hard to come by, once its cracked everyone behaves as if it is the town bike; a cheap whore deserving no respect.
I liked first game but like most gamers felt it isn`t as good as everyone was thinking it will be, repetetive, kind of boring after few hours etc. AC2 reviews and opinions are more optimistic and it looks like the game is much better than first part
Someone should explain the nfo -if it actually works- cause it´s a bit messy.
1. Mount ISO.
2. Disconnect from the internet!
3. Install the game.
4. After installation reconnect the internet and launch assassins creed 2 (DO NOT USE THE CRACK)
5. Update
6. Register a ubisoft account and login
7. After the loading is finished and activation asked, exit the game
Now...
8. Apply the crack and make an index.php which gives an anwser "TRUE" to connection, must be hosted on local host. (NOTE you might not even need to reply true if you are using the right type of program like xampp which just gives the positive connection back wards. You just have to delete all the useless part which shows projects)
Where tot place index.php? What to include exactly?
9. Create a new folder and configure your emulator in the config folder, all you have to do is just change the IP and PORT (port must be the one which assassins creed 2 connects to you).
NOTE: !!! MIGHT NOT WORK IF YOU ARE HOSTING THE EMULATOR ON THE SAME HOST AS YOUR CLIENT! RECOMMENDED TO ASK YOUR FRIENDS TO HOST THE SERVER!
10. Go to your hosts files and redirect the following ip's to the emulator host
As far as I understand, you should put an index.php on a webserver (if you don't have one, register a free one from this list: http://www.free-webhosts.com/best-free-webhosts.php ) then use the hosts file in windows/system32/drivers/etc to redirect the above addresses to your webserver.
As for point 9, I have no fucking clue, since I didn't try it.
