I have not tested the crack but so far those who have mentioned using it have got this bug whereas I've had no such problems and the only difference is the EXE file.
(There's a crack for the 1.1 patch since a while now isn't it? not just Skidrows 1.0 crack right?)
This would lead to the conclusion that it is a protection trigger although it doesn't help with how to solve it and any other triggers.
(ArmA has like 20 or more different ways with Fade, no telling what Ubisoft has in their code but it's clear it's using a form of triggers.)
EDIT: Default captain name (Post further down.) interesting.

Yep the Silent.Hunter.5.Battle.of.the.Atlantic.v1.1.Update-SKIDROW came almost right after the game release - comes with the actual patch plus a cracked game exe.

Use the default captain name. Worked for me.

JBeckman wrote: | Interesting, that would indicate a savegame or rather profile bug due to how savegames are handled and verified (Even if stored locally.) and nothing protection related. |
Using the same profile on cracked version caused the bug, using the profile on the retail version and no bug.
The profile was made with the cracked 1.1 version.

Epsilon, could you try on the cracked version, starting a new profile and using the default name given?

I just tried using the default name and i can now select missions after skipping the tutorial (Skidrow 1.1) so far, so good.
(It did not work before when using own name)

can anyone confirm, what that article is saying? |
Even if its true they will download them and apply to the iso but i dont think this is true.

If that's true and UBI did that, Downloading the required files to continue the game, i'll say WTF Next Gen games * A fucking .exe of 30mb, Going to options, ah crap " Downloading pops up* New Game *Fuck more download* )
Why the hell they still bother to make games over 5gb when you can play it with a damn 30mb exe and downloading required files to check the Options

I think WoW for Mac is the same, you download ~100MB, start playing, and while playing, the other 14GB of the game download in background..
