Just played it a little bit. And this game is utter crap. It's such a downgrade compared to the first one. The graphics, story and gameplay are subpar. For example I played one mission in which I was attacked by fatboys. I've conquered one factory, left some planes to defend the other flank and went wash some dishes. After half an hour I've return - my base was intact and full on resources.

This game is so streamlined and dumbdown I stll can't believe it.

- On normal difficulty there is no AI, just scripts
- No resource management, you just have to build extractors and forget about it
- Less unit types
- I've seen better talking heads' animations on budget games than in this POS
- The story - I heard my grey matter scream when it died
- Maps are a lot smaller than in original
- Unit models and graphics are worst than in first one
- And so on...

What I don't really get is, how do people think cross platform strategies are a good idea (as in pc and ps3 or x360).

The best console strategy I played was Halo Wars. Non pretentious, and it worked well, for a console. Was fun for about ... well 4-6 days, which is 4-5 days longer than any other console strat I played.

You shouldn't cross platform a strategy, it won't work, I think. The leading platform for strategies is still PC, and I don't see that changing in the near future. Develop for that Very Happy

GPG has made a couple of really bad games. Where is this going to end?

Epsilon: Game is great btw, I love it, so far it's a definite goty. It's remarkable how much has changed since the beta, stardock have been working their asses off, and it shows.

Good. I don't like RTS games. Sometimes if it's ludicrously good I force myself to play a bit anyway. Based on that opinion I don't have to. Thanks!

I only played the demo, but...

You forgot to mention the voice acting, which is beyond awful. Chris Taylor strikes me as the type of dev who thinks he's being TEH FUNNAY when doing an over-the-top bad parody. But really, it's just intolerably awful.

How the hell do i install the razor release?I extract the rars, click on the icon to install the game on my computer, then it keeps asking me to swap and change files whilst installing?
Then once it says it's fully installed, i click on the short cut(that pops up in a box), try to start the game and it says searching for shortcut lol.
And how many cd's is there when you have unrared the rar files into iso's?

even read the nfo file that came with it ? oh & its 1 dvd ~7.3GB

1. Extract RARs
2. Mount or Burn image
3. Run Installer.exe (when it ask for SID file you have to select it on your
dvd drive)
4. Copy the whole content from crack dir to your install folder
then make sure to grab the crackfix & extract that into install folder too. IF you want it to work that is.

Just tried a skirmish. Computer is terrible, does nothing than try to nuke you to death. He also defended his base with about 100 gunships and bombers, an amount to AA can take down. The game ended with me just sitting in my base with 10 long range artillery installations just shelling him.

Also, artillery got nerfed fucking bad in this. It takes about 5 minutes to kill a factory with all those installations.

This game is pretty bad.

I really looked forward to this game. loved SC1 and FA (bought both). hughly disappointed. Campaign is short and drab, removed a LOT of the more complex features that were boasted in SC1 previews (linking buildings together, eg power plants to factorys), range circles are gone? Experiemental units are supposed to be "Ohhh SHIT" units that could screw you up if your not carful (In FA i hated to experimental bomber with a passion, it's carcus ALWAYS took some valuable out, often by group of 4 T3 powerplants).

Tech levels gone?
Less units?
Played one skirmish on the LARGEST map and i think i've seen equal sized maps in C&C4 beta and Starcraft 2. When I talked about Supreme commander the word "epic" was used to describe every aspect. Not SC2 now.

At least I hope they allow it to become modable in future patchs. If they offer the same level of modability as SC1/FA then making experimentals scary should be easy.

ok man we get it..you like it.

you dont have to reply to each person with "sc1 = snorefest sc2 ROXORS!"

you even replied to posts that gave differences as valid arguments on why its slimmed down and consolized with "sc1 SUX, sc2 ROX!"

some people give honest reviews of whats missing from 1, and what has been changed...and you retort with the basic version of "GFTO micromanagement geeks, your wrong! this is the way of the future! hot fast action!"

its all a matter of personal opinion I agree, but when 90% of the people dont like it, you dont need feel as if you should show them personally with a reply the true error of their ways..

if they took your favorite game, that filled a niche that needed to be filled, and changed it so it wasn't anything like the unique game it was, nowits just like all the others, you'd be just as upset as us.

they took the one game that stood out, and was different from the pack that filled a hole in the RTS genre, and gave us no options to turn to as a replacement.

you want gameplay like that? there is 4000 RTS that do that. there was one that wasnt...now its jumped on the bandwagon of staggering mediocrity with the rest.
