Ouch. There was only a brief mention of the DRM, to say they encountered absolutely no problems with it.

So it's not as if the bad review is because of that. It's just a litany of horrible bugs.

Maybe this is Ubisoft's strategy...how do you tell which "bugs" are DRM triggers and which simply bugs? SKIDROW should just fix them all Smile

Yes I've read that before I launched SH V + ingame I4ve alt+tab out to read some more so from what they tell me here others have this problem to.

You don't?

everything worked fine for me (so far) after i started a new campaign using the default captain name. sorry you are having issues on your end.

When you look at this screen: http://www.subsim.com/2010_02/sh5/2010/sh5_intro/09-96.jpg

I see that on the right side on the mission you have the 'Start Mission' button but I don't have that one, I always launch the game via SH.exe... MAybe I dhould gice the ubi launcher a go from what I've read in the AC2 channel.

yar, i used the launcher, (blocked through firewall) and skipped the tutorial, went to the dude, skipped the little movie, clicked on the coastal waters mission button on the map, and a 'request mission' button appeared. clicked that, hit escape, talked to the dude again, selected 'lets start the new patrol' or whatever it said, and was good to go ( plopped me onto the conning tower of the boat).

Could be that the crashers are related to DRM and the bugs related to triggers mistaking the game for a fake one at times but hey that's what you get with hard-core DRM it's a double edged sword with the sharper bit pointed at the paying customer Smile

Ah, just like you I can also do patrol mission but note this:

patrol mission =/= campaign mission

See the start mission button, we don't have that...

no, that is how you go out on a new campaign mission

Quote:
then click on Start Mission, then hit the Esc key to see the officer again, then click him and finally, "Let's start the new patrol".

that is what i did, and that is what i am currently on.

skip the movie, click the german cross button on the map, click on 'request mission', hit escape, talk to the dood, select 'let's start the new patrol', get ported to the boat. hit 'K' to bring up the objectives. it is all there, sorry if this differs from what you are seeing/experiencing.

Parabolica thanks mate:)

I'll try outyout methode but Ubisoft made this very wierd and not clear...

So you must click on patrol mission to start a campaign mission...

I thought from what I've saw from the picture that once you pressed the 'Start mission' button you were on the deck of you u-boat.

EDIT: Gave it a try and it seems to workn when I press K then I see mission details but atm I'm not sure if they are indeed the right ones hehe.

BTW when I left my hull was damaged, and after I skipped time I noticed that it doesn't get auto repaired? This can only be done in a harbor right?

bit early for "finishing" game but there is no "finish game" in this sim, like the others you can continue on after any missions done. never ending patrols for the most part..
As the amount of missions given no idea right now here anyway.,.,

Id be suprised though if anyone in here has got past any amount of missions yet... Although UBI state you wont do more than one as we dont have the files for it its all downloaded lol.. Now that bit of info will be interesting if anyones done more than one.

Can't see anything being downloaded and nothing in the game folder has changed, it might take some authorization data from the Ubisoft servers via your profile though.

hey JBeckman please can you upload your saved games? you did it with AC2 Smile so... maybe.... Smile

(the game -at least in XP- save under "...My Documents\SH5")

The thing is that I can patrol but I can´t select missions of the campaign ( I know, I know... yes using the crack hehe)

maybe if we load a saved game with the mission "active" we can continue from there...

thanks for make the DRM down !

I don't think it downloads anything. I think that it reads data on the remote FUBI server and uses it to start campaign missions. I know that you can play the first mission by playing with the default profile name, but can anyone confirm that there is only one "first" mission? If legit users can choose between more missions after tutorial, then I think that what I said was true.

MapHtH i played tutorial mission and then i couldn`t select missions after briefing but when i started new game but skipped tutorial i could select between "proper" missions, but i heard voices that with skipping tutorial you can play first mission but not the second

also ppl on sh5 ubisoft forum reported the same bug with not being able to select/start mission after doing tutorial but cant confirm that they were using retail game or cracked one Smile
