Steam needs to be installed for the demo to work as far as I know.

I was thinking about the same thing, any way to stop the timer? I tried the Cracklock but it didn't do anything.

Yep just look a few pages back, it doesn't work (Tsearch and Cheat Engine both do the same thing as Artmoney).
Edit: For ammo, grenades and such tho you can easily edit/freeze them with memory edit programs. Most likely could freeze health too, but since it's not a numerical value I didn't bother trying to find the address since it takes longer.

In order to properly freeze the timer (not quite the same value as the one tested earlier in this thread, mind you), do the following (CheatEngine is needed, google it):
1) Start Just Cause 2, trigger the timer by jumping off the platform. Press F1 (or 'Back' if you're using an Xbox 360 controller) and check what the timer says. Memorize it.
2) Alt-tab out and start CheatEngine. In CheatEngine, browse the processes and select JustCause2.exe. Choose 'Unknown initial value' from the 'Scan type' drop-down list, '4 Bytes', and hit the 'First Scan' button.
3) Go in-game again, un-pause and let some time go by.
4) Again, open the PDA and check how many seconds have gone by. Alt-tab back to CheatEngine and search for a new value, this time a 'Value increased by...' (or, as listed by the program, 'Increased value by...'), and enter the appropriate value (the time in seconds that passed) in the 'Value:' box.
5) Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you find the correct value, usually an address starting with '1A5'.
6) When found, double-click it to add it to the box below. Freeze it and play for as long as you want.
This works for me, I managed to play for quite some time (before I quit manually, that is ).
Credit goes to user Nioreh83 (is that you, JBeckman? ) on the SweClockers boards, I merely translated it.

Shit, what's happened to the protagonist??? He has changed sooo much from the first game. While he was always laughing and cracking jokes in the first game, here is always has a frown on his face and is always serious. Damn....
1 and 2 are still amazing.

It's sort of a trainer, it might get altered but there will always be a counter for the clock to tick down/up and keep that progress so it might get hacked again.
(The same should work for that ten second "demo end" area limit.)

Keep searching until there's only a few left - by then it should be pretty obvious which one it is. Mind you, it may start with something else than 1A5.

Has anyone done the leaving demo area one yet?
It seems it might be too short to narrow down.

On the very same page as your post, this can be found:
