Well all I can say is that I loved Demon's Souls, it's a quality game. There are a few bugs here and there but show me a game that doesn't have the odd bug.

SWEET!! I am getting dangerously close to solving this game! I just beat the Maneater boss and I am not talking about Hall and Oats! LOL! This was the toughest boss battle for me. The FlameLurker would have been harder if he hadn't gotten stuck on those bones. Level 3-2 was very easy for me. I just had some trouble with the Maneater boss.
Spoiler: |
I couldn't believe how hard it was. Not only do you have to fight a challenging boss but once you get him down to 75% he summons a 2nd Maneater! Yes it was very difficult. I had him down to 25% 3 times when I died. I had to circle around the brazier of fire and try to keep my eye on the Maneater that was low in health. I was able to juggle magic/using Warding, using spice to fill up my magic and heal with Late Moon Grass and then select my Purple Flame Shield with a +6 Long Sword. Once I killed the first Maneater I opened up on the 2nd Maneater with my Lava Bow!! I love the Lava Bow! Every arrow it shoots does +100 fire damage! Killing the Maneater was the most thrilling moment in this game yet. Well, pwning the Red Eye Knights was pretty good too!
I was on my way through 1-4 when I realized the False King was the final boss!!! I was like hold on, do not kill the final boss until you clear 3, 4 and 5 Archstones. I have farmed so much I could probably beat the final boss now. But it doesn't seem to matter. I died 5 times fighting the Maneater because he knocked me off the bridge 4 times. So this game is tough even when you are Soul Level 65. I was disappointed that I didn't get that many souls for killing 2 Maneaters, 15,000 I believe. Beating the Maneaters was great but getting back to the Nexus after the battle was the best!!!! I got back and ran up to the 2nd level and noticed 2 new corpses. I ran into the back right and there was Yurt the Silent Chief standing there. I talked to him and he thanked me for helping him. He said now I can get back to what I am good at. I was like bring it on!! I selected Warding and 2 handed my +7 Bastard Sword and mopped the floor with him! I don't know, but that was a lot of fun. I thought he was going to be tough. The Warding protection spell simulates me having a Tower Shield but not the added weight! Oh well, I am off to 3-3 and the Monk! Best game I have played in years!! The spoiled gamer in me hates getting to the boss and dying and having to go through the whole map again...............not killing the Dregling Wizard before the Fool's Idol boss ring any bells!! LOL!! Not fair as it can go on FOREVER!!! But other than that it's a pure joy to play this game!!
|
I can tell you right now that it's just a matter of time before we hear about Demon's Souls 2! What the hell are they going to do to us in this game!? I may need counseling after Part 2!

such an awesome game so far. Am not very far into it and the lack of a pause button can cause slight issues with kids running about (cant find a padlock for their room......) anyway...
i read that just quiting to menu is like a pause feature, cos you resume straight back where you were souls etc intact. Does the same apply within a Boss battle, or would i have to start form somewhere else on resume?
my skillzz are quite tired these days, so dont want to test whether it works on the next battle. If anyone can let me know, would be cool!

Hit your PS button, that acts like a pause button.

Hmm, yeah you are right (been a while since I played)
Just make sure you have spent/incorporated all your souls before you take on a boss and yes you can hit quit to menu/pause or you can google on how to use the same 'feature' to beat various aspects of the game. (spoils it as far as I am concerned though)

yeah cheers. using the quit as a pause will work for now
not going to look into the other uses etc, as i agree, that nonsense destroys the game for what it is suppose to be. If an enemy gets stuck in a wall, i will capitalise on that, but i wont but in some random sequence to make life simple etc.
going to get back at it, do 1-2 for the 16th hundred time... lol, its the only game i dont mind repeating sections, cos most of the time it was my own mistake that killed me. fun game though, swear box is full!!!

Tower Knight?
Spoiler: | Just run left up the stairs killing crossbowmen as you go, carry on to the very top and kill the crossbowmen there, run across to the other stairs and down killing the remaining xboxmen, pick all all the stuff then run back up and take a central position behind the crennalated wall and begin your ranged attack on the Knight when he lowers his shield, remembering to take cover before he throws his spear, rinse and repeat.
Or use Death Cloud (if you have it)which allows you just to walk up to him and finish him off |
What is your character build?

Ok, lets see, for a melee type character run through his legs do not circle him otherwise he will get you.
Don't forget that when his shield brightens he will make a FORWARD attack so you can still slip through his legs...
Once you knock him down deliver some sweet hits then as he looks like he will recover move back and behind him quickly!

There are no US servers as far as I know so you should get whichevers cheapest. Just make sure that you get one that has English. I know the Chinese version does, possibly Korean if I remember correctly.

recently had a black phantom invade, and some odd stuff happened. It was the first and only time so far, so maybe this is how it is:
i was relived, not in soul mode. He was shiny red with a big staff, seemed much more equipped than me, so i ran!
ended up not able to go anywhere else, as the nexus is off limits so figured i would go out fighting.
i could damage him, but he would just heal, endlessly it seemed. And he wasnt able to damage me. Only time i lost health was by standing on fire (oops)
So, this was endless, spent about 15 minutes trying to fight him, all my weapons broke, and we couldnt end me either....
is this usual, lol?
awesome game though, (twinkly sparkly)

Gonna finish this after FF13. I just cant be assed with its hardness for now. Its not the kind of game you can chillax and play on a sunday afternoon. If your concentration lapses for a split second your assraped.

I got it from here, shipping took 3 days http://www.axelmusic.com/productDetails/730865001323
Then I got a box of 25 from hong kong to sell on ebay for around £500. Ebay is the way to go if you want faster shipping..

As I said before it's on Sonys "The Best" series now, for me it's 1,200b which is about 25 quid.
I've recently got back into this game, and after reading a lot about it I'm starting to get better and enjoying it more.

Well, what can I say, it’s been an unbelievable ride. This game totally beat me down and I just couldn’t deal with it anymore. I ran right through all stages of the game and got to the False King and got killed 15 times. To my credit I did get him down to 5% once but then died. I was so frustrated after my 15th death that I quit the game and deleted my saved games! Yes, actually deleted them. Of course the sun shines on me the next day and I am MISSING the game already! LOL! I was like scratching my head and asking why did I delete my saved games? I mean it’s better than breaking a controller which I seriously never do. But I was so mad and angry at the game.
Anyway, I started a whole new game a few days later and I can tell you I am a completely different player now. I am actually good at Demon’s Souls! Not as good as that dude that beat this game at Soul Level 1!!!!! But it was great to go through the game again. I killed the False King last night at 2am in the morning. What an unbelievable experience to go through everything I went through and then to kill him FINALLY!!!!! The game gets my GOTY. It hooked me and wouldn’t let go. I also was invaded by a Black Phantom for the first time. He attacked me from behind back stabbing me. I was able to roll away from further attacks and run. I was able to heal and get my PvP +9 Broadsword and +5 Purple Flame Shield up. We fought for 30 minutes and I almost killed him 3 times but he was very fast and rolling all over the place. He was able to heal because we were circling the 1-3 area by the dogs. He finally killed me because I was healing and he nailed me with soul arrow before I could heal. That was intense!
I am now playing NG+. I really liked the ending and it made sense to me. I won’t say anything about it. I just want to hear the announcement that Demon’s Souls 2 is coming out. I am guessing that it will have to do with the Land of Giants. I am guessing someone evil repairs the broken Archstone and opens up a whole new chapter. What a great game!
10 out of 10 Easily!
