The biggest news out of id Software co-founder John Carmack's QuakeCon keynote today was the lack of a Doom 4 announcement. Attendees were audibly upset when Todd Hellenshead, co-owner and CEO of id Software, assured the crowd that they were not going to talk about Doom 4. That is, they weren't going to show Doom 4, but when Carmack later took the stage he did talk a little about how the title is up and working on id Tech 5, and that, since the game is working on a complete engine, will be more design-focused as opposed to being a new front in technology.

Jokes aside, can't say I'm in the least bit hyped. I was so over Doom years ago.

I kinda dug DOOM3.

Use the search function next time, there is already a thread on Doom 4. There is also NO NEED TO WRITE IN CAPITALS!
