I remember a game form my childhood that I enjoyed back then cery much but I can't find it anywhere. It was a racing game and it was quite gory. You could stick pedestrians on your spiked thingy on fornt bumper and blood squirts all over windshield you could also fire minigun attached to the roof. I think there were missions like destroy a limo or kill all marathon participants and arena deathmatch. One more thing that i remember it was cyberpunk like setting. Any ideas?

Tschoob, as you already have created a thread with a general enough name, I would like to ask for help too.
I am looking for the name of game, tjat I have played a long long time ago on Amiga, it was a space sim sorta. Things what I thnink I can remember:

- Your space ship had an onboard computer, that could understand a DOS like commands ala directoru listing, change dir, your command promt changed too. One of the commands was an arkanoid alike game.
- When landing upon planets, there were a descent animation ala screen scrolled from top to bottom, showing descent from orbit --> sky - > land. And on the land there were various metalic constructions, and a three(more or less) gas stations with filling tubes on the right.
- While traveling in space, there were random(I think) mine field events, all mines were wireframe 3d objects
- Your ship could shot read lasers at 3d view port window

At first I was certain the game is whale's voyage 1 or 2... But uponb checking, I discovered that I was wrong.

So, could anyone help me out ? Anthirs - a Guru Meditation master you definitely played a lot of Amiga games could you help ? Smile

Haha Razz I sure have and i've got pretty much every game still (both for amiga and the dvds with all "iso's".

However, I cannot remember this specific game. I would suggest Star Flight just as Twobells mentioned - but I can't remember any command line in that game.

BTW anyone knows if there is a remake (or decent clone) of North & South? It would be cool to be able to play with my buddy with 2 gamepads.

Federation of Free Traders? It was similar to Elite but had a sort of built-in programming language (SIMPLE) that you could write programs in to perform different functions.

@twobells, Anthirs, xyzg: No, definitely not Starflight and no Elite. Startflight was top-down view game. The one I am looking for, looks similar to Captain Blood ala it had the viewport too.

The planet descent was something like this... (warning: a drunk man illustration follows)

@dodger2020: Federation of Free Traders looks closer, but still different, objects here are solid, not just wireframe.

Actually, the thought that strike me... in old good times, the imagination was the key. I played the game as very young kid, so it could be possible that what I am looking for doesn't exists and never had. Maybe it's just two / three similar games all melted together ?!

Actually it would be sorta explain why I couldn't find a mention of such game in abandonia, back2roots, mobygames

Quite a useful thread!

Anyone know the name of this game: you played something like a ranger or cowboy and you had to pretty much shoot things and duck behind cover. It had an isometric view and I think you actually started at the top-right of the screen and had to go down and left, until the level finished (like a reverse Paperboy I guess Razz). This was waaay back, I think I played it when I was also playing the first Prince of Persia.

First guess would be Xiphos, second would be Moonfall. But Xiphos is the only one that's got the screens you mentioned.

That could be the one. I remember playing those games on my friends c64. It was a bit too ..deep for me at the time when I first played it but I was quite impressed by what you could do in the game.

In those days when vector graphics were the big thing in gaming. I was impressed that you could actually fly down to a planets surface in a game and there were indeed petrol stations in that game lol.

Well then you should try the PC ports: http://mercenarysite.free.fr/mddclone.htm

I spend a lot of time with Mercenary on my Amiga. I think it was the game what made me a fan of all open world free roaming adventures. Too sad, i cant remember i ever played another game like this. I still wait for a X3 with planet landing etc...
