As far as i know, a 3rd party makes SS v2. Most lattest games i got had SS v1 on them then manualy patch them for v2. |
i see, so to be safe on my litetouch console i should wait for it to verify/patch on abgx360

Yes you should wait for it to verify and patch with an SSV2. Also, I say that you should probably wait until release day to play it but some disagree.
Better to be safe than sorry IMO.

how linear are the levels, like CoD or Battlefield BC2? that's why i love stalker (on my top 5 of best pc games ever), i probably won't like this that much if its too linear.

Totally linear like COD. Don't expect anything from Stalker here except atmosphere.

tb liked the Stalker series so so, but Metro 2033 has all the strengths of Stalker and none of it's weaknesses.
You'll need subs even in English though as its a little hard to understand so why not set the dialogue to Russian and get a fuller experience?

This game is amazing. Only got 1 problem with it and thats the damn mask filters. You can get fucking screwed if you go on an long outside mission and only have a few minutes left or whatever that number stands for.

Yes, Keep looking here http://www.abgx360.net/verified.php?f=name&q=
When the game will be in teh database, click on the number 1 at the end of the line and it will bring you to a page where you can download the SS v2 for manual patch.

There's a lot of mutilated corpses everywhere, but they're part of the 'level design' and your shots don't cause any dismemberment.

I'm almost at the end of the game and haven't noticed any framerate drops so far.

Just finished it. Some really awesome visuals at the end. Although still being quite short (took me 8 hours), the single player experience is much better than BFBC2. Only MW2 beats it, I guess.

OK at chapter 4 now, I'll decided to stop and wait for the pc version, because off the crappy aiming/shooting at the console (i can't aim very well with a controller lol!)
you have to aim very precisely in this game because its all about sparing ammo for the next fight
also i find the controls are kind of clumsy, is it just me or isn't it possible to throw a grenade further then 5 meters away of something? lol And why isn't there a quick button for the grenades? 10 enemies are approaching me, by the time i get to my grenades I'm already dead!
Don't get me wrong, besides these things (maybe personal things lol) its a great game!

It's always like that - either you get a small but polished game in time or you wait five years for an enormous buggy world. Unless the dev is Rockstar, lol.

I was complaining about aiming too at the beginning but then it all sorted itself out. You get the auto shotgun almost at the very beginning (off Bourbon's body, I think) and you should have enough ammo to buy the VSS rifle which is awesome both as sniper and close combat auto.
And that's it. Just use the shotgun at very close range where you don't need to aim and the VSS at longer range. You don't need other weapons, really.
As to grenades - the only situations where you actually need them is when human enemies are barricaded and not moving too much. I used them only once - on the bridge between Reds and Nazis. They're useless vs mutants who move too fast.
And also it turned out that there's a bit of aim assistance on the rifles but not on the shotguns. That's why it's quite easy to shoot everything with the VSS without using the scope.
Also ignore (don't waste money) all the exotic crap like pneumatic rifles and super-pistols, they're useless. Sell all their ammo and invest in rifle ammo, because it's the only one that's really scarce, shotgun ammo is always scattered around till last level.
Keep in mind that there won't be any shops starting from Chapter 6 and till the end so no point in saving the military grade ammo for trade from that point - you can use it in chapter 7 to quickly dispose of the mutants.

Me too. I suspect age might be important whereby dismemberment is still cool rather than just meh.
I've burned to disc (well, I did on Saturday) and have yet to dump it into my xbox. FFXIII seems to be sucking my time (its not through choice either, I'm not especially enjoying it, I just can't seem to turn it off).
7/8 hours is good in length if you ask me considering its a linear game. I might finish it at that length.
Why does Bayonetta never get a beating for its length (2 hours easy, 3 hours normal, 4 hours hard)?
