Would you that already finished the game recommend "working" for one of the factions ? Don't like any of them but i wanna finish as much quests as i can and get as many achievements as i can
i went on the same route , and now i'm pretty much stuck with a quest
the Monolith Survivours quest from Jupiter , i can't Duty or Freedom to recruite them , did all missions , collected all papers but i didnt give anything to them , sold pda's and documents and recruited mercs from Zaton for scientists .
Is this thing really uncompleteable in this manor ??
i mean fuck , they really should have thought this through then , neither wants them , even tried the fucking bandit base and still no luck .
can't find anyone who completed this part , no guide , no nothing . fuck .
any ideas ?
could it work if i finish the main quest and come back for them afterwards ? .. if they are still there ..
I did this, but without incident, if freedom won't accept them, its probable you broke the quest?
Err... no. I got the Monolith guys to join Duty before getting to Pripyat. I think, at least.
I gave the Duty guy some PDA about a warehouse and it's goods being sold or something like that. After raiding it, the Duty boss accepted the Monolith survivors.
I played so that i didn't work for any of the factions and it turns out that its impossible to convince any faction to recruit Monolith Survivors. Also as i earned A Man of Balance achievement i cant get Leader achievement
Quote:
A Man of Balance and Leader are mutually exclusive, as it's impossible to gather enough "faction points" to get Duty or Freedom to take Strider and his group in(and thus, get him to go with the player to Pripyat) without doing any of the three above.
Hm, this installment actually managed to fix the weight"problem" by making only good condition weapons sellable for a profit. Only a handful of the loot are actually worth something. You'll give up on looting everything soon enough and will only pick weapons up to empty their clips and throw them away instantly.
I was frustrated in earlier games, but here, I rarely have to use capacity inceasing artifacts or that hercules drug.
what the fuck are people bitching about weight ?
50 kilos is extremly generous to do shit , 90 if you have an exo-skeleton and 70 (i think) with a SEVA .
Clear Sky vanilla is fucking hard compared to this , don't know why some think ShoC is harder tho .
I have win7 x64 and it doesnt work.
Run with admin rights, disable UAC.
I run it with admin rights, and click yes to run.
No luck.
Someone got working one with w7 x64?
EDIT: Hmm once it worked, after game hung - it doesn't wth.

Just started it for the first time. Finished SOC LURK yesterday. I find it unbelievable that the graphics in this came are so much worse then LURK... They should've hired the LURK team to develop this game
A question though. I rece, tly had a directX 10 card installed. How can I see wether this game is running on v10 or v9 ?
@Mister_s = maybe I am tard or something. I run trainer, I run game. When I press 5 on numeric keyboard I hear sound in windows, but nothing happens. I turn on/off numeric k. I press 5 like crazy and eventually it starts to work. Of course I run as admin. And I see trainer windows when I alt-tab and when I press 5 (weight trainer) it is check on red, or unchecked afternext press.
What I do wrong?

You're probably running the promo trainer by Psych. As such, it only has one option available for non-paying customers (I can't for the life of me understand why anyone would charge people for stuff like this, but that's a different story altogether) and that option is 'Infinite Stamina'.
You could try downloading another trainer, there should be a couple of free ones with the option to remove weight limit.
I always thought Dunia would be the best engine choice for Stalker2. Then I saw this:
It would pretty much solve the zoning problem, would alow all kinds of vehicles, with scaled back LOD and increased close-up details (in- and outdoors) would make a perfect Stalker game.
I was such an obvious choice, wonder why nobody thought of it.

Can't really say I like the ArmA engine. It just doesn't *feel* right. I also doubt it would stand a chance against the X-ray engine in indoors enviroments, which is where Stalker really shines.
Download link for File4 seems to be down
Any chance for a reupp ?

If done right, the engine would have nothing to do with bugginess.

They could easily alter the general controls and movement of the character to match the Stalker feel. Just because it would use the Arma engine, it doesn't mean the gameplay would be just as choppy and akward (Arma is like that because it's trying to be realistic). It's only a matter of finding a comfortable feel for the game.
If they would lower the LOD and use the freed computing power to raise the number of detail objects nearby and increase the quality of the lighting, I'm confident that they could duplicate the stalker visuals, but in a single huge zone instead of several smaller ones. They could fit the entire exclusion zone in one map, instead of chosing a few iconic locations to cram them together. It would also give A-Life a much bigger breathing room to simulate an ecosystem.
But I'm just dreaming. AFAIK they already licensed the cry-engine for Stalker2 (which means it's most likely going to be zoned just like before).
