BOGT = Vice City (which is awesome) and San Andreas combined, crazy missions, cool stunts and lot of action. Also humor is great.
TLAD = Short story about motorcycle gang. Nothing epic, regular shooting and chases. If you seen Sons of Anarchy you know what to expect. |
So the new release we are expecting is gonna be named Episodes From Liberty City and it will contain BOGT and TLAD ?
And it's gonna be standalone, as I recall.

This time it will be a download. I'm not throwing any cent at rockstar for such a bad port again.

Anybody having problems with multiplayer and our Games for Pirates Live key? Since last patch I can log into Live and get achievements with no problems but when I go multi I get message:
"The connection to Games for Windows - LIVE has been lost. Returning to single player." Sometimes I can get into Lobby but when I try to join game I'm stuck at loading screen.. I had no problems before patch.
Any solutions?

The DLCs, are they working for cracked GTA4? Can't find any releases.

They're gonna be standalone. You don't need to have GTA IV to play them.

For the people who still play this game online, are you having trouble joining games and creating lobbies? I haven't played the game in a while and started it up and for some reason when trying to join a game I get the message:
"Lost the connection to games for windows live .. returning to single player mode"
I do not have any mods or trainers installed I also tried reinstalling.

i couldnt get game to work online with razor launcher.. even tho ppl said it works.. then i just gave up.. grown bored anyway..

I must this game runs better than I expected. The graphical quality is not up to par with the performance, but I expected a lot worse after reading all the horror stories. Maybe the patches fixed it to some extent or something.
Are there any mods beside ENB which are really necessary? All of them seem minor texture changes and such.

'Games for windows live' is quite fussy about having the right ports open on your router etc, it caused me loads of problems when the game was released to get connected to any online games. I had to mess about with my router and firewall settings to get anywhere. Have a look at the required ports needed open etc and see if that helps you. Theres quite a bit about it on various sites (sorry can't remember them right now).

There is a new patch (1.0.6.0). The best thing is, it removes the Social Club (yay).
Somebody already tested it out with older cracks or something?
I've got the original game but I would like to know if it's playable now because of Lan partys and such (my friends have to play cracked then).

Razor crack works for me.
After update you dont need connect to Social Club anymore, they also change main menu, now you can start both DLC right from the GTA4 menu.
But update delete some language, its only English, French, German, Italian and Spain now.

Not completely. It still comes up with a dialogue box requiring you to either log in or choose to play offline before the game comes up, but it dissapears when you close the game now.
I think they've just integrated with the game rather than now having a separate program.

Where are you guys getting the latest update? If i click on the game for windows live link on the social club, it sends me to the update page but there is only patch 1.0.0.4 and if i click it, it doesnt work.

Get it from fileshack.Is a zip file.Run the update title executable.
This patch gave a fps boost in my rig (quad q6600+ancient 8800gt).Now runs smoothly on 1680x1050, medium textures,high shadows,night shadows off,25-31-51,water very high,def on(Didn't have time to experiment further with settings).Game ran extremely well for me when it was released but patches totally destroyed perfomance in my machine and game was uninstalled.Now with latest patch it's great.Waiting for the episodes.

Uninstalled now though, have done everything and just free-roaming was a bit boring and the episodes are stand-alone so the main game is finished now.
(Old mods won't work with it anyhow so nothing worth saving, ENB perhaps if it can be enabled quickly but would require a lot of configuration to fit as seen from the thread I posted and XLIVELess and other utilities would have to be updated as well for whatever new version they are using and some have been inactive for quite a while.) |
Wow, I never knew about that mod, some of the shots in the topic on GTAF look like real pictures of cars, Gonna have to check it out if it is updated...

13 april 2010: New official GTA 4 patch is released. Again and again R* do the same, instead of contact me or hire some better specialist than their own. I'm not personaly interesting in development any new version of ENBSeries for this patch, so if someone from you awaiting for it, don't spend your time. Gays are not allowed, GTA4 is dead.
