You are just stating the obvious, but don't worry about that. Razz

It's been discussed before, also on the Aliens Vs. Predator 3 subject. It's basically not worth it in actual (launched) games to hamper the framerate just for the sake of playing on dx11.

Well, tesselation should also allow a better method of LOD, which should both increase frame rate and make it easier for developers.

I installed Razor release and Skidrow update and didn't think about rzr crack Smile
Thx.

In graphic options... Can I set advanced options manually or just have to use predefined low/medium/high settings?

Guess I have to toss away my computer that I just bought last year. Can't handle this game not even at high settings. Very High makes FPS go to lower teens when outside. High makes them 18-20 outside. Have to turn into Normal to get around 30 FPS. Specs: C2D E7400 @ 2.8 GHZ, 4 GB RAM, 9800GT.

The CPU and 9800GT are both low-mid level (weak points) and you'd be best off with 800*600 or possibly 1024*768 with moderate settings.

I disagree with you Frant. I have C2D E6750 (OCed to 3GHz), 8800GT, 2GB RAM and my game is running fine on high settings 1280x1024 something about 30 fps, ofcourse there are some drops in more demanding sequences but that is fine by me considering how good the game looks. JRFSkrEEmeR be sure to have newest drivers (197.13) for your GPU and try to OC your CPU a little bit and you should be fine.

I run at 1280x1024, my monitor's max res. Lower than that tends to make things ugly. Just updated to 197.13, but these newer drivers break Crysis for some reason, dunno why. Makes Crysis stutter unbearably. I've been running the game in DX10, so I'll do it in DX9 and see the difference too. Not too sure about overclocking the CPU though, I don't think it's safe enough with my cooling.

I'm brazilian, so I don't have the same easy access to awesome hardware like you guys.

The E7400 have less L2-cache than the E6750 even.

GTAIV is a CPU-intensive game and dual-core 2.8Ghz CPU with only 3mb L2-cache is going to suffer.

The 9800GT is basically a shrunk 8800GT and not quite up to the task of modern games at high resolution.

30fps is not enjoyable in my book, but that's my personal preference.

Frant, I play through Crysis at 20-25ish FPS and I don't see any problem. Seems smooth enough for me. I don't run extremely high resolutions anyway. And sorry, but that is like one of the best computers affordable here in Brazil.

But that is the performance I'm getting nonetheless. Can only run well on Normal setting.

About GTA4, my PC can run it pretty well at 1280x1024 if I don't max the sliders out. I run it with the texture settings on High and the rest of the stuff on Very High, and the draw distance bars the same as the console versions and it's very enjoyable, without a single problem.

Heh, I run in the same res as you, 1680*1050 and I've only got a 4890 and E8200 @ 3.4Ghz and I get somewhere around 40-50fps.

Well, don't be too disappointed. Even on my qx9650 @3.8ghz and a 5870 I still only get 20'ish fps with everything maxed at 1920*1200.

It's just one of those games. This is far more demanding than *anything* else out there, including Crysis and StalkerCS.

Here's some graphics card performance numbers for Metro: http://vr-zone.com/forums/582617/metro-2033-benchmarked-pcgh-.html

With my gtx260, very high detail, adv.physX off, no aa, 1680x1050 I'm getting better results than them. almost equivalent to their gtx285 numbers

It's been a while since i played this kind of game, old school, rail shooter. The thing i found most surprising, was that sneaking and silent takedowns actualy worked, and you dont need to 'clear' the level, you can save ammo and be sneaky and leave a lot of enemies alive.

Very surprised, great game.

p.s

Trying to imagine a new Stalker game, with some elements or ideas borrowed from Metro... not to mention graphics.... :O

Same here, same card. But it's still one of the most poorly optimized games I've seen.
Absolutely horrible. I mean it looks really good or more like quite good. But not as good as this need of hardware is suggesting. Rolling Eyes

The stealth parts also have their flaws tho.

If one enemy see you, even if he is alone with you in that room and he doesn't scream nor shoot before you kill him, all enemies on that 'mission' are aware of your presence and they now exactly where you are, you can't hide anymore.
