Who needs cards when you got fully animated real time sex scenes |
because theyre going to be cheesy as fuck, you can count on it. theyre gonna be probably more eye-wateringly embarrassingly bad than the me2 AND dragon age ones COMBINED.
but seriously, i loved the cards, i thought it was a nice touch... you got a nice piece of music that played, while a very nicely drawn piece of art was displayed.
to be honest, i think animating sex scenes in the game is FAR more cheesy, immature and tacky than the cards ever were. the cards were really nice... not because of nudity, but they were a nice little unlockable piece of generally quite beautiful art.

This. If you need AMAZING sex scenes, watch a porn movie or something. But as far as this game goes, cards are way more mysterious, way less cheesy and give you a sense of accomplishment. The blurred kiss scene with the card and the music is really the best that can be done IMO. The rest is up to your imagination

Why can't we have both? |
I don't know, I simply don't |
because theyre going mainstream i tells ya.
just you fucking watch. witcher 3 will be announced as open-world but mid-way through production will become a linear set of missions 'to focus on creating a tighter narrative'. witcher 4 will be a cover-based shooter, and witcher 5 will drop the pc to become exclusively console based because "some games are more suited for the intimacy of the PC, and others are best played from the couch in front of a larger TV screen"...

Well a blokes gotta make an earner I spose. It is tough living in a society that once placed values above material goods. As the community's institutions, cornerstones really, become corrupted by 'user pays' 'privatisation', or any of the other cliches of the neo-liberal gestalt, it becomes impossible to maintain any sort of persona within that community and still cling on to 'outmoded' ideas such as art being more important to yourself than money.
This has been the story in so many nations that have moved from so called command economies to the free market winner takes all nastiness. It can seem there is no middle ground.

I'm surprised they got away with the sex cards in the first place, that's probably the most sexist thing that I've seen in a game since Duke Nukem lol.

I take sex cards rather than cheesy, awkward looking scenes. Trying to make characters kiss in games looks hilarious. The ONLY game I've ever seen it look remotely realistic is Uncharted 2, on the PS3.

When it is a choice between only mildly tacky, slightly out of perspective still picture of a partially disrobed woman, an image redolent of the famed "Nymph in the Glade" so popular during the 1960's that it was silk screened with ersatz gold onto a few million pieces of black velvet, or a cgi based on the action movements of a ping pong ball encrusted hunchback sucking off a Poznanska Street pimp whose own ping pong ball accoutrements failed to cover his numerous hand drawn swastika tattoos , I think I'll go with the still 'card' thanks

I would expect it to come out on console. From the previews I'm reading it sounds like the combat is far more hack and slash, that combined with quick time events leads me to believe it will be a more simplified version of the first game. Guess I'll just wait and see.

the combat was as complex as you wanted it to be. 3 stances, 2 weapons, different enemy types, and throw in different signs (unless you just pumped everything into the fire one, and just fucked up everyone by continually setting em alight ).. yeah id say, compared to most rpgs, the combat was a bit more complex.... definately room to make it more complex and strategic though (ie by adding a block/parry system perhaps?) but sadly that'll never happen now...

The game is planned and made for pc. If there'll be a console version, it'll be a port and come at a later date. So far there's no guarantee of that, too. The only platform 100% sure is PC right now.
As far as combat goes, i liked it in first witcher, but it could've been better. I don't really care if it's based on timed clicks or active combos, as long as it's viscareal and complex enough, it'll be alirght.

You can do all of that with a gamepad, changing stances and whatnot does not require a keyboard. This is not a game which requires 100+ hotkeys, that's what I meant by complex.
Any more info about the impact the saves will have in the sequel?
