hi!

try anachronox. its a bit old. but has excellent gameplay, story and the best thing of all....style.
its really worth a try, but you need ~2 hours to get in it. the beginning is a bit slow.

next thing would be World of Warcraft. but you have to pay for it Wink

you could also check out ign. in reviews you can pick rpg as genre and look through the list.

Yay, lets go ahead and play another EQ clone, or play EQ2.. Sounds like crap to me. And yes WoW is a EQ clone, the developers of WoW even said this.

While not the most in-depth RPG I would have to reccomend KoTOR and KoTOR2.

Depends... if u like games with a indepth story and such... Not many games go with deeper stories nowadays... cheaper to do storieless games i guess...
Anyways basicly KOTOR1 and 2 are very good... for RPGs.
Bloodlines is also good.

both of them are equal to BG series and fallout in multiple text options and such. Bloodlines and kotor2 has been done by some of the fallout team.
anyways have fun exploring Smile

Doesnt matter, I dont care for SW but the characters in kotor is what its all about, they are excellent. The storyline in general is pretty good, nothing spectacular but it compliments the characters well enough to keep you playing till the very end.

Cant speak for Kotor II, I refuse to play that unless Obsidian patches up their ending.

Try gothic 1, the story is far better then gothic 2's. Although obviously the graphics arn't as good, but they're still nice.

It has better characters too.

Yes, that's right. As soon as the "MMORPG" tag gets placed on something, there WILL be a troll stupid enough to compare it to Everquest. And hell, while we're at it, let's say that a moped is a BMW clone, why don't we? They both have engines! In ignorance, you miss the whole beauty of WoW. Notice that the graphical styles of EQ and EQII are not cartoonish. They're designed to be realistic (as realistic as that kind of game can get, anyway). The beauty of WoW is that it's far easier to play and get used to than EQ, and it's visual style is far more laid back. The result is simple: instead of keeping you on the edge of your seat, with forks stabbed into your skull to keep your eyelids open, WoW lets you do something Everquest never could: relax. I've played EQ, and I initially wanted to get EQII. Until, that is, I saw WoW. Yes, EQ has the pretty graphics, but WoW is better on such an elemental level, in the sense that it doesn't take itself seriously. The game is designed to relax with - not grind your sleep away on.

Therefore, call it Everquest all you want. Fuck, call it an FPS if it pleases you, but WoW definitely has features which, by their very design, put it two heads and a foot above what Everquest can ever be, despite the better visuals of the latter.

meh, depends on how old school you want to go. Me personally, I love the old SSI gold box d&d/Ad&d games. Even that 'forgotten realms archive' pack is alright. I think overall I enjoyed the ones for the Dragon Lance setting though.

I totally agree with that !!
GFX are nice, gameplay awesome, and the storyboard is astonishing, plus the length of the whole game.

People, he obviously wanted PC rpg's (look at the games he took as examples) and not CONSOLE rpg's like some of you have posted. It's a HUGE HUGE difference. Smile

And the the fact that it was started in...."PC Games Arena"....shuld give you a hint Laughing Wink
