As I said before, I found the first really boring so I won't bother with this, but I follow the crack progress just for the satisfaction of seeing this DRM fail Laughing (plus, it interests me to see this metod applied to SCC when it comes out Wink)

What. It was actually one of the best games in 2009. Improves everything over AC1.

I have to disagree with the comments that it's crap, most of the bad comments come from people that are blinded by the hate against the DRM, the game in my opinion is very good, the cities look great and the free-running has a very relaxing effect on me.

It's a big improvement over the first, the things is there are still some missions that are somewhat similar and fighting is still based on counter-kills even though you have a ton of options counter-kills are still too easy and fast.

But the main improvement is that when you start a mission (sequence) you don't know beforehand what you are going to do like in AC1 where you knew you had 1 listening mission, 1 stealing mission and so on. The (much) improved variety, lack of predictability and added freedom make it a great game and a better sequel.

I bought a cheap key from G2Play did face some problems with disconnects sometimes but never lost any progress. I don't like it, but single player only games need support and to be perfectly honest I only bought one SP only game, ME1 because of the uncracked DLC. I couldn't get myself to spend with the game a click away.. but now I don't regret it.

At least for me Assassin's Creed 2 was the best game of last year. Even better than Dragon Age. Don't listen to haters.

I've played only a few missions but the game seems overall more heterogeneous and challenging than the first one, without mentioning the setting, which is definitely familiar to me

I get about the same. Maxed out, 2048x1152 res. Although the map is really lagged for some reason. That part is annoying.

I think all the side missions work until Sequence 4. Then for 5-10 only the main missions work atm.

Pretty much.
If it had been done right away, something like this would probably only take a few days to gather all the values after a release date.

It isn't "crackable" because of the simple reason that there is nothing to crack. This DRM uses the same system as the MMOs servers, as the scripts to play the game are on a server-side database.

Which is what people are doing now, using the original game, they are downloading all the values database from the Ubisoft server. Then those values are used on a server emulator. Just like any MMO private server.

Just too bad it was a month after most probably finished it, it would be easier to find people to get values if they were doing their first playthrough.

Well, now when they know how it works, it should take less time to collect all values for upcoming games, like SC:C, POP:TFS, etc...
