Depends on how do you define RPG...Bot for some (like me) it is an RPG, although not the usual...

The same way that any game is not a FPS.

Which one? In Carbon(ME2) you play the role of an underground racing crew leader(spaceship commander), do different missions(races), earn money(resources/money), upgrade your car(character/ship), gather a crew that helps you during races (missions). There is also a pretty cliche underground racing(sci-fi) storyline to follow.

If you can stand the graphics?!Fallout 1 and 2, Arcanum, Planescape, Baldur's Gate 1+2, Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines and the list could go on.

Arcanum? Cool Face

j/k that game had some great potential.

idk, it's not out of the realm for people to consider ME/Witcher the best RPGs of the next gen at least. A lot of people never played those old great Infinity Engine PC ones.
Wow I just realized those were all like 10 years old.

Also arguing about whether or not it's an RPG is kind of pointless. Everyone has a different opinion on what a "real" one should be. But it's always been described as an action RPG so I don't know why people feel the need to complain about it.

The same. You play a role of a racer. And in Pong you play the role of a tennis/hockey player/ a bat / a paddle / w/e.

RPG is too broad of a definition. Unlike other genre names that focus on very specific aspects of gameplay "RPG" gives us a very general idea of what is happening in a game. I'm not sure it is even possible to come up with a set of criteria for the genre. So i just go with my gut feeling with this. Do you really feel that ME2 Diablo and Planescape Torment are all of the same genre?

well whatever, if people didnt like it or think that much of it, then thats up to them.

i loved the story, it was amazing. i loved the characters, gameplay was a little hit and miss, but overall it was a fantastic fucking experience for me, so deal with it.

Don't get me wrong. ME2 has a decent atmosphere and a better story then most of the games thrown at us lately. I just not considering an RPG. More like a shooter with RPG elements. Same as Fo3.If Fallout 3 would have been named differently would have been even better.

I like story driven games that will give you loads of options and quite abit of exploring. ME2 confined me in corridors and ditched most of the stuff. Sure, the inventory in ME1 was badly designed. But they could have revamped it. Diablo introduced the cluttered inventoy with tons of so called unique stuff. In the old CRPG's when you've found better equipment, you would get that fuzzy feeling.

But I'm getting sidetracked. I've started playing RPG's on consoles in the eighties and moved on PC. There is good stuff on the both platforms, but lately everything it's getting so dumbed down. On my future list to buy are two RPG's : Drakensang-River of Time (coming later this year) and Witcher 2 (coming later next year). And that's about every RPG for now. I might get the next generic Dragon Age 2 or ME3 (to see how they conclude the story), But that's a big might.

Bioware forgot about it, because they are still hunting for the Easter Bunny and they were sidetracked by Alice and lost themselves in Wonderland.

Probably kasumi, they are just taking their sweet time releasing it.
I have postponed my second playthrough,so I could play kasumi and hammerhead too without starting a third game.

So let's summarize: over 100 pages, no official word (silentio stampa does wonders in cases like this), a possible angry mob and the offices about to close in an hour or two. I call that EA, what do you call it. But, still, over 100 pages?!
