ME1 has the same combat, but it was an RPG. ME2 is a TPS with dialogs.

I'm playing the last game (double agent) waiting for the new one, and Im disappointed by the quality. Can't say what I don't like but I think its boring, first mission is ... second one too
Am I the only one ?

Double Agent was a departure...I'd hardly consider it one of the better SC games. It's probably the worst of them all in my opinion. I can't wait for Conviction though...

In my opinion, the first Splinter Cell was the best. It was a phenomenal game back then. It's closely followed by Chaos Theory, but the rest aren't worth bothering about IMO. Particularly Pandora Tomorrow, which I thought was total pants.

Well first splinter cell was cool because it was all new then, but oboy was chaos theory a good game.
So polished. Cool places. Going into that mantion in the third level was like being a super thief. The turkish bath house with steam and all. There was one place impossible not to be seen. 100% the other levels, but that one I never did.
I rank that game very high. It wasn´t that hard, just very well done. Sneaking around has never been so much fun.

I always ranked the SC games:
1. Chaos Theory
2. Splinter Cell
3. Pandora Tomorrow
4. Double Agent
Chaos Theory was just so awesome because not only was it a sneaky-stabby-game in a world moving towards more and more Counter Strike clones it was also a fucking marvel in the forefront of visuals and sound as well as absolutely solid gameplaywise.
As far as SC moving in a new "action"-direction, truth be told, I've stopped getting pissed by such things, I've rolled over and accepted that games are as mainstream as any other media. Just enjoy the ride or get out of the way.
