I played the multiplayer beta yesterday and didn't think much of it. I'm not sure that it's even worth the DL to be honest.
+1
First 3-4 matches were fun, but the game quickly gets old. Not not mention when you are really close to win the match others completely destroy you, no matter how you playing. The result? You get 7-8th place.

yup it's shit...gfx are so-so, handling feels crappy, even the soundtrack is shit. can't believe that this was made by the same studio that has the project gotham racing series on its track record
damn is it that bad? i was looking forward to it after i get done with RDR.
edit - just watched the review on gametrailers and it looks like ridge racer and burnout had a baby. the way the cars drift looks just like some ridge racer shit. like a board with wheels that slides.

Agreed... Gotham Racing is still my favorite racing series this gen by far. Was hoping this would be good but seems like I´ll pass.
Played it for about an hour.
This is completely different game than S/S. S/S is casual, fun racing game for braindead people with ridicuolously easy driving. And it's fun! Blur, on the other hand, is a game with more depth, more diffucult and less forgiving driving (at least at start) and it feels like, hmmm, more complete package. Both games are imho great but comparing them - well, the only thing they have in common is the fact you are driving a car. Everything else is soooooooo different. I suggest to check them both. Personally I see myself playing Blur a lot longer than S/S.
I played the S/S demo and didn't enjoyed it, then moved to Blur. After reading the comments here, I was expecting to hate myself for wasting my last Verb on this (Alpha Protocol got leaked just a few hours after I burned Blur >_<), so when I first started playing (played only 2 races) I was a bit disappointed too, had higher hopes( still better then the routine/dullness of S/S though) but I've played it a bit more this week and I'm enjoying it. It's a fun arcade racing, especially great in 2-4 player split-screen.
So after hearing all that S/S praise I burned that too today hoping that just the demo sucked and the full game's actually a lot better... well it's not, same shitty routine. I really don't see how S/S is better than this. For me at least S/S seems dull; drift, use power up-> repeat until you win. Verb wasted.
Blur reminds me of a old racing game I played a bit back in the days, on the Dreamcast: Metropolis Street Racer; the gameplay mechanics where similar; Fast cars racing with power-ups.
Oh btw, love Blurs intro movie, with Ennio Morricone's "Ecstasy of Gold" in the background. Especially after playing .

There's a reason for that: it was made by the same people
