Yeah that faggot did the same thing with the c&c 4 emulator.

I'm experiencing huge framerate drops especially at the Villa and San Gimignano, but overall, for some unknown reason the game runs much worse than AC1 without providing any sort of graphic enhancement.
@Leo
How is the game running for you?

1. Assassins.Creed.2.Multi.9.CloneDVD.PC.DVD9
2. Install the game , Run game and let it patch and close
3. Download and Install: AC2ServEmu0.44-One-Click-Install.v1.0.1.1.rar - including the latest values.db update (v1904)
3B. Copy over the older version of Ubisoft Launcher for crack Heres a link to .17 .exe

4. Edit your hosts file (%WINDIR%\System32\drivers\etc\hosts).
127.0.0.1 static3.cdn.ubi.com
127.0.0.1 ubisoft-orbit.s3.amazonaws.com
127.0.0.1 onlineconfigservice.ubi.com

5. CMD Window and type ipconfig /flushdns
6. Start the game via the shortcut "Play Assassin's Creed II" on the desktop or start menu.
7. Enter a user/pass (remember it) and click on the large arrow
9. It will complain about saves but ignore and press play now , you can also press the little cog in the top right hand corner of the launcher and make sure saves are offline.

It mostly runs quite smooth for me too, though as written above, some maps slow down to a crawl (especially the damn villa).
Quite a good game too, many times better then the first.

1. Assassins.Creed.2.Multi.9.CloneDVD.PC.DVD9
2. Install the game (Do not run the game immediately, otherwise it connects to the server Ubisoft and an update that makes the "crack" incompatible)
3. Download and Install: AC2ServEmu0.44-One-Click-Install.v1.0.1.1.rar - including the latest values.db update (v1904)

#2 LET the game update to 1.01 . Use V.117 of UbigameLauncher as that works with latest server emu files. V.118 breaks it. Thats THE only problem with it.

I have a very strange problem when i start the game. Only one large blinking black square appears on my screen at top left corner with white in the background and blinks alternated with my desktop every second.
And at first it worked as it should for days. It did happen before once but when i re-installed the game it disappeared but now i can't resolve it anymore. I didn't read anything about it on the net so i wonder if this a hardware or config error or whatever :S Does anyone have an idea on this ?
And just one thing: i can remember it happed just after i enabled the settings on 8x aa in the video settings, but just when i wanted to start the game again this happened. And by removing the ubisoftlauncher and all files within it i also remove the stored settings of the game i think, but i'm not totally sure about it ...

The Ubisoft Game Launcher and maybe AssassinsCreedII.exe? Try those.

If you run Fraps or ATI tool, you will see that the FPS don't drop on the maps (even though they are sluggish for some reason). Its some stupid way they are displaying the maps. In game I dont get any (or much) drops.
On my 5870, at 1920x1080 everything on full (AA, Vsync on etc) I get a constant 60FPS which drops to 58 occasionally in heavy populated areas...
What I have found is that its better to change the affinity of the server.exe so it only uses one CPU (I have an i7 so I set it to the last). If you run Task Manager while running the game set the affinity to the least used CPU thread... Seems to make things smoother for me.

Well well, i played this a short time on xbox360 "sons game" and it was great but he kicked me off it as sons do eventually and hogged it all..
so i finally installed the pc version, and woah!!.. it looks better runs very well, i dont have any gameplay lag issues and running on max details, plus 4Xmsaa "with ati card" geee whod of thought.. But shit what a nicely made sequel and 100% better again..
Laying back in my easy chair with controller and ac2 is rather fucking awesome fun.. Fair play, Its first game i actually feel a bit guilty of leeching lols..
Peace out! game owns...

Is cs.rin.ru down for everyone else? Perhaps a DDOS attack by Ubisoft?

Was mentioned some time ago, they're in "C:\Users\HereIsYourWindowsUserName\AppData\Roaming\Ubisoft\Assassin's Creed 2\Assassin2.ini
(Savegames and similar have also been posted but might be useless aside from free-roaming and some other bonus stuff like those tombs as you can't replay primary memories.)
