Hi Guys,

My Xbox360 broke a while back and was freezing with lines down and occasionally got RROD - i got the usual xclamp, re-solder super flow etc and it worked for a couple of months but now it freezes after 2mins of gameplay - no lines down screen and no RROD as of yet.

now unless any of you super people can help me fix it - im looking at the following options and wanted opinions, thanks in advance

A) get pre chipped brand new xbox 360 for £180 including 1 year warranty from some company selling em.

B) get a banned (preowned but excellent condition) xbox 360 with 1 year warranty (from company selling it) for £120 - there is an option to purchase extra warranty (so for 3 years it would be just under £180)

C) buy a brand new xbox 360 for £112 including delivery and flash myself with no warranty.

thanks

appreciate the feedback man, any reasons for disregarding b)

i looked at that option on the basis of warranty more than anything else as ive had problems with xbox reliability etc

is the new xbox360's alot more stable?

Option C if you've flashed before or have basic hardware knowledge (i.e can dismantle a box, attached the xecuter connection kit (i.e. 2 cables) and use the probe). Flashing a console isn't rocket science (even the latest Liteon), just requires following a tutorial.

If not, option A

Have you considered a JTAG'd unit? Can pickup one for about £180 or £35 for the service itself (unless you do it yourself of course Smile )

Intel Core i7-4790K 4.00GHz - 32GB Kingston HyperX - Gigabyte Z97X-Gaming 7 - EVGA GTX 980 TI SC 6GB - Asus ROG Swift PG278Q

Isn't the JTAG'd units with the old chip? Which mean they can as easily get RROD?

My xbox also died recently, my dvd-drive stopped working...am also looking at a option for a new unit. Either repair..or buy a new one and flash, somehow I get the feeling a new one with a jasper might be better...it might hold for a longer time..

ive not really ventured into the whole jtagging world, ive heard from people on this forum its great etc but i only use my xbox to play games.. i got a hd media player etc and not sure what else it can do really - might do some research.. also only place i found doing jtagged x360s new are costing £250 - trying to keep cost down...

are jaspers the best ones, i.e more reliable etc?

just buy a jtagged jasper, you'll love it... And jtag is also about gaming : homebrews, emulators, free XBL Arcade games, free DLC, no need for DVDR anymore to try shitty games, etc.

And yes Jasper is the best, RROD is almost non existent... If you wanna jtag one just make sure the MFR Date is <06/2009 and kernel is 7xxx
