for game recommendations. btw. god damn it, the thread is even on the first page! Could have found that one yourself, lazy boy! ;D

And as for picture quality. You bought a Wii and ask about picture quality?
 Spoiler:

I use the RCA cable that came with the Wii and while it at times looks like shit compared to the PS3 or X360 I doubt that a "better" cable will get you better results
(Though I'm still hoping to get a somewhat decent picture quality from my PS2 on my LCD TV because I cannot play MGS3. It's just a big mess of brown and green :/ )

based on what i read everywhere it helps a bit, making the picture a bit sharper.
In fact i didn't tried the rca cable, bought a component cable right from the start.
But everyone is complaining about wii picture quality on a hdtv, and with this cable i have a nice picture. Not next gen, but sharp, enough to enjoy games.

here's a review with screens http://www.bonafidereviews.com/article.php?id=193

Does anyone know if the US and PAL version use different servers or do all play on the same?
If I start with the US version now I don't want to restart with the PAL version later just because I want to play with a friend.

Yes, all modded Wii's can go online, there aren't any known cases of Nintendo (or anyone) banning a modded machine, chip or soft-mod.

At least, that I've ever heard of, and I think I would have heard.

Personally I've been playing Brawl for years online with no problems, my system has both soft-mod and a chip.

USB Loader is one of the usb launchers. (so you can play from an external HDD)
The rest are options you can turn on/off for each game.

Personally I used Uloader and set the IOS to 223 for the game and it worked.
The online servers are not up yet, so I can't test that out.

I know what USB Loader is, was just curious what those steps referred to. I found a menu in USB Loader that had those options, but it still didn't work. I have no idea what "929 wad" actually refers to.

I'll try this ULoader: looks like theres a version 1.7 and 3.2 - blargh. This shit needs to be more organized.

I never used USB Loader so my guess is that 929 is a version number.
The newest version of Uloader is 5.0.
Here is a link to a tutorial which helps you install Uloader 4.9c. You can update Uloader once you installed it to 5.0 if you got an internet connection on your Wii.

Didnt run for me with neogamma (only tried beta 8 since i have it as a channel and instant loading of discs) had the same crash i had on the jap version with an older neog version.
Started gecko and it ran without probs. (For those loading of disc) Only insted the cios where rev 19 came out recently.

Works on ULoader 4.9C using this IOS222 business (head scratch). This game makes me further lament the lack of HD on the WII.
