Could I use the 1.1.1.0 patch on that? I bet I cant. | These rls'es already have this patch.

so i extracted that 16gb shit from tpb , added the crack -> crash at start
same as above + update -> securom error
moved to program files , update , regfix -> game enters , upon selection between the to the screen goes black and it stays that way or securom error
as above , i only reinstalled a newer flash verion cause i got a flash error in the main menu , gfwl -> crash at start
what the fuck am i doing wrong ??
since didnt really get a PROPER list of things to do to make it work , i just used common sense and did the shit above , didnt work , so maybe i'm missing something . |
Yep, crash during/aftre the rockstar logo = bad reg keys
But you fixed that, so I'm not sure what the problem is, are you using the files with the md5 hashes i've posted ?
I've got to also add that my crack package had 4 files, the launcher, the data.dll and two uninstallation files. But I think those 2 aren't needed/important ...
Using 197.45 Nvidia drivers here, game looks and runs fine, mostly like the original.

I grabbed the 16GB release "Grand Theft Auto IV.Episodes From Liberty City.PC Game", used the crack as linked in .nfo and made sure I had latest DirectX, GFWL etc installed. Extracted and renamed folder to G:\EFLC and as using x64 Win7 added:
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Rockstar Games]
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Rockstar Games\EFLC]
"InstallFolder"="G:\\EFLC\\EFLC"
Game launched first time.

I'm having a stupid problem right now. Don't actually know if it's a bug or something protection related. But my use key does not work ... i can't enter or exit vehicles. I tried changing the default key, no dice. Any ideas?

I got this 8gb repack version, installed it, run launcher and game runs ok but my problem is that the game doesnt remember changes in control mappings and even if everything is set it still says critical controls are unmapped ? Any advice ?

@ragnarus: in my case the game (16gb steam rip release with the razor launcher) doesn't remember my controller settings either. I don't have any custom mappings the game forgets upon restarting, but for me it means everytime I quit the game "vibration" and "auto aim" are set to 'off' for my xbox360 controller under the controller settings and I have to switch them back on the next time.
Both our problems probably have the same source - my guess is some accidentaly write-protected config file or maybe a missing reg-entry somewhere?
I'm looking for a solution, I'll report back as soon as I found one.

What about that controller config file posted at page 9 ?
Anyway, are your gfx options saved ? That works fine here, my controls are at default.

What resolution are you talking about ? The jagging isn't really noticeable on 1680x1050, unless you're looking for it ...
@ Shoshomiga
It's kinda the same as GTA4, maybe slightly better, but still the framerate gets inconsistent at times.

Wonder if there are any protection triggers remaining, the car chase in TLaD where those gas stations explode had the camera switching around constantly making shooting impossible, still completed it however, another car chase at a pier in TBoGT also switched camera at one part but was not a hinderance as such though the last mission or atleast it seems so in the club has Tony die if he gets hit a single time making it impossible to complete.
EDIT: Ah right so that's how it was meant to be done, that's one thing down then.

The camera is like that on purpose- to see the epicness of the chase :\
You have to hold right mouse button/aim to make it normal for shooting.

Aliasing is there with 1280x1024-> EFLC.
GTA IV 1280x1024 -> Far better.No jaggies.
1680x1050 both games -> Jagging not really noticeable but again in EFLC is worse.
JB, camera movement is really weird (legit game) for me too.In several occasions switches to questionable angles.I'm using x360 controller.I'll try later with mouse+kb.
In general game runs smoother than GTA IV but i think Rockstar again fails bigtime in making a decent port.

Get the smaller 8Gb repack instead which for sure adds the reg values and crack and installs everything for you. It's what I'm using.

installation took about 1h 15 minutes or so but it works like a charm so far..
Gay Tony is really fun tho , and is it me or car physics are a bit more 'playful' ?

8gb version sounds gay.
sounds like it's super compressed, and needs lots of cpu power to extract and unpack.
1.5 hour install? hahaha. that's fucking absurd
