but it doesn't have the depth as say Virtua fighter. There is simply not enough variation in the moves. Like I said, i played this til my fingers bled on the SNES but other than improved graphics and they odd change here and there, it has not progressed in all these years significantly. |
Of course I agree it's very similar to previous incarnations, but I still love playing alpha + CapSNK with friends.
First few hours of play, I thought it was mainly a graphics overhaul, but scratch deeper and you soon realise this is the epitome of side-scroll-beatemups. Well tweaked with many ways to show off, excellent artwork, best streetfighter yet.
If they changed it any more, then it would cease to be streetfighter and I doubt it would compete with the excellent established 3D beatemups such as soulcalibur etc.

meh, i don't like it one bit. played it alone and with a friend, and none of us got hooked. after 30min of playing, we went back to MK VS DC and had a blast. For ME mortal kombat is way superior to SF4 (except for the graphics, i like the ones in street fighter 4 a lot)

I had a similar experience in that I was laughing a lot more when playing MK vs DC. Lots of laughing following me throwing the disc across the room.

... that makes no sense, mate. I, too, have a PAL console - and the JPN release works fine. Why would you ignore that just for the sake of the game being ONLY for PAL?

The secret? Smoke a doob. Seriously, we hadouken'd and shoryuoken'd and that other oo-ken'd Seth into the dirt! It was great, we managed to daze him with a sliver of health and if we weren't so excited probably would've ultra'd him back into that generator! It was awesome.
Region Free and in COMPLETE English.

The AI is cheap ass but everything else about it reeks of awesome. Hell even the menu song is growing on me (turned all the english audio off mind you). I freaking love Sakura <3 "supa kick" mmmm bloomers
